While I agree with you about all the crap that is blasted at us with the stadium sound system, that is not the real problem. All sound systems, from $200 to $20,000,000 have limits to them. When you push the limits, you gat and inferior sound. The problem in Martin Stadium is they insist on pushing the system beyond its quality limits in order to get more quantity (volume). That ends up causing distortion in the output. A small reduction in the volume will provide better sound quality while still being easily heard by everyone in the stadium. Except Loyal, of course, who has passed out before the end of the first quarter!
And of course we have to put up with the lack of proper coordination between Glenn Johnson's feed, the PA music feed, and the referee's mic feed. Incompetence on parade there.
As far as what they are pushing out for "music", how about some diversity? I have listened to music for decades, has included several genres, and a couple years ago it was well into the 4th quarter before I heard a single song that I recognized. WTF? We don't need to hear rap/hip hop/whatever they call it constantly when there are so many options out there, so let's include something for everybody. Classic rock, even golden oldies from the 50's (Elvis, Buddy Holly, etc), country, even bluegrass, progressive rock, Motown soul, etc. Come on guys....MIX IT UP!!!!
