I think allegations - which I assume JDL denied at the time - verses now an admission are two different things.
I was also a big fan of JDL the player. Now wish he never had set foot on campus. Neither of these 2 players ever should have been on any campus. Nobody should get a pass or "closure" for rape. They should have gone to jail.

He should be required to pay back the hundreds of thousands of NIL money he received from UA. Perhaps a lot of that money is being used to settle with the victim.

The report says that the first complaint was filed in December 2021, so there's no reason to believe anyone from Leach or Rolo's staff was aware.

It's a bit unclear what the timing was, but between the 2 articles I gather that there was a juvenile court filing at some point (one article says "family court," the other says "juvenile court." Not the same thing). Don't know when that was filed, but if it was juvenile court, it should have been sealed and inaccessible to coaches. THe civil suit was then filed - apparently that was December 2021 - and went to private mediation last year...and the settlement of that is what makes this news now.
Still a little fuzzy what may have been known, but doesn't seem likely that it was readily available to WSU. Since Rolo was from Hawaii and knew de Laura at least a little, I'd be less surprised if he was aware of it. Considering Leach's 3 rules, I don't think he'd be very willing to overlook it.
That'll depend on external pressures. The fact that Arizona has a talented up and coming QB (Fifita) on the roster gives them some extra consideration.

FWIW, in that same time span, WSU has five Top 10 finishes, eight Top 25 finishes and sixteen bowl appearances. The Wildcats have been underwhelming but we've had the same number of non-shit seasons, more Top 10 finishes and Top 25 finishes but fewer bowl appearances. I'm not sure that we should be casting too many stones overall.
