Any Coug Fan That Wanted Snow....

There is no way in hell UW could beat WVA or OU . Jimmy Lake's plan with his secondary can not handle elite receivers that can break tackles. WSU has above average receivers but no one that is Crabtree type elite , not yet at least. WVA and OU both have Crabtree types. Jimmy Lake's simpleton exilisor is to keep everything in front of your safeties and once receivers catch the ball they can tackle and contain. If he does that against OU for instance and he would see those same safeties chasing Marques Brown and Cece Lamb into the end zone all game. All he would be doing is shaking his head wondering why his great game plan against the air raid is not working.
Yep it's a personnel issue. Cal, similar plan, personnel not at the same level to execute the plan as efficiently.

We could do that but it doesn’t solve other issues like revenue disparity etc. nor does it solve the disadvantages when our thinner roster is banged up at the end of the year.

The October Apple Cup solves every single one of our disadvantages and makes an even playing field.

- game is in middle of season giving us a better opportunity to have a full two deep with injuries.

- game is in middle of season and allows us to utilize our smaller roster effectively in space as opposed to creating physical competitions with no traction/visibility with a smaller less depth roster.

- revenue is equalized every year including ancillary cutting into the revenue disparity

- no problems with thanksgiving / winter break scheduling, no dangerous road driving in the first week of October.

It solves all our problems and minimizes the things that Petersen (being smart) leverages against us.

In my opinion having the game earlier might add a couple wins to the history of this game, but it would mostly only help us the fans. It doesn't sting as much to lose this game if there is 4 games after it. All the things you list will still be disadvantages for us to some degree and it won't hurt them at all in any way.

It makes the revenue equal every year so it does help us.

It also allows a less deep team like us, not to be battered and thin at the end of the year.

It will help us a lot. A lot actually.

If you think being a less deep team at the end of year playing in adverse conditions at home is some sort of an = playing field against a deep and rich and bigger team you are crazy.

The series has been rigged.

We’ve secretly schemed to play this rivalry game at the end of the year and in Pullman every other year. Terrified of parity (and Ellensburg) don’t you know? Good weather too, of course.

I get the revenue thing, but the weather isn't always bad and having a less battered roster may add a couple more wins, but it isn't gonna tip the scales in a meaningful way in my opinion. I'm not against moving it. I'd much rather have as early as possible, but I don't expect to change the outcome much outside of it being easier to swallow.

Or your coach could, you know, make adjustments...? Maybe game plan for different scenarios? No?

Yeah he’s going to teach an entire new power run offense to the team in a short week with no Thursday practice, game on Friday.

The “genius” of Petersen have our 4/5 star offensive line block and hand it to Gaskin in the snow.

Woooooow. Where was Petersen’s genius against Oregon, or Cal?

It doesn’t work against them without some sort of advantage.

But somehow at the end of the year he’s a scheming genius wizard against i climate weather or a banged up smaller roster.

I was thinking more like teach them something new as soon as the snow got heavy. Like on a timeout or something. Seems like that would be the only real option.

Do we cancel all are games against “UW like”programs after Halloween? What do we negotiate if we were to get to the CFP?

Your plan is about conceding when we just need to continue to step up our play. This year UW was getting healthy coming off a bye with a game against an overmatched OSU.

We still have to figure how to match up with whether it’s week 1 or 12. We still have to figure out how not to start pouting when things don’t go our way.

Your plan says we are losers. That’s no way to run a program.

I added but basically I’m not getting this mid-season plan to play the UW when we should be healthier. What about SC, UCLA, Oregon, and Furd that should also have deeper rosters who we would play later? How do we schedule for the last game. The whole thing is just idiotic and it’s probably stupid to continue to give it life.

No my plan says they are stacking the deck playing us at the end of the year when they know they make more money and can recruit deeper.

My plan turns the tables on the “rich get richer and the poor get poorer” model that UW has made an institution.

Our games after October are the same as ever but....but....we have equal revenue share and are not playing our in state rival at the end of the year when the team is tired, it also opens the door for more south teams to play us in adverse conditions which works better to our advantage.

You play to your strengths and you mitigate your weaknesses. That’s how you succeed.

Right now the Apple Cup absolutely plays to our weaknesses and mitigates our strengths.

Our strength is that we can recruit smaller faster players that can do damage in space.

The Apple Cup is played at the end of the year when adverse conditions make bigger power teams have an advantage.

Our weakness being a smaller program is we don’t have the depth other programs do.

The Apple Cup is played at the end of the year when injuries are common making a slight hendersnce to a deep team a devastating setback for a less deep team.

When you understand that a deep big deep wants to play the small team at the end of the year in adverse conditions is when realize that the Apple Cup has been rigged.

I could by into that a bit more if it wasn't for the fact that most, not all, but most rivalry games are the last game of the year across the country traditionally.

Maybe UW would agree to only play 20 guys. And we could play the game in August.

Everything's gotta be fair.

It is a really strange - and, frankly, unhealthy - thing that a big part of celebrating for some people is coming over to the losers' board and mixing it up with their fans. This year I would read our Brand Y boards and the losers' just to see what they were saying about the game. But the idea of antagonizing them after the loss as my personal victory lap never occurred to me; I suffer from this crazy desire to be regarded as a decent human being.

HHusky is somewhat grandfathered in here, although even he hasn't acquitted himself well this year. Moon is a straightup troll who adds no good humor or value and takes himself seriously.

There are classy Husky fans out there - but they're decent enough human beings to spend their celebration in their own victory circle.

They are f-ing assholes. I went to a viewing party over here on the wetside. Place was totally packed with Cougs - except for 3 or 4 big, loud mutts that were apparently with some Cougs. 3 or 4 more trickled in near halftime. Waiting to get a lead I guess. Why the F would you come to the other teams viewing party except tp be an asshole? And it is always the big ones who probably didn't even attend any college. The actual grads are at their own parties.

I could feel what was going to happen at halftime. Went home and watched the rest alone.

I pretty much prefer not to comment immediately after a win, except that there's this Coug know-it-all who thinks just because he's a multi-billionaire he's got a "solution" to the Deep State/meteorological conspiracy against the Cougars. I admit I find him ridiculous and can't help myself. I'm praying on it.

Eh, I kind of feel sorry for them. Anyone who’s dropping by afterword to say I told you so after their signature win is either a Jack Husky or has no friends...most likely both. UW fans without deep insecurities are celebrating with their friends and looking forward to a game next week, not hanging out here.

My man, this is what I'm talking about. How many times have you logged onto WazzuWatch today? This is how you're celebrating? Go home and drink it in with your family and friends! You won the game! Get high on that, not on our disappointment.

I think you have to agree I was here before the game as well.

I admit that one of the many pleasures of life is visiting the losers' message boards. To read about the gnashing of teeth and anger at the entire world is entertaining. One of my guilty pleasures, I suppose.

However, I do sympathize with their plight and remain respectful if I decide to chime in with some comments (ie you have a really tough team...you have a good coach...a bright future...etc.). We all know too well as Wazzu fans about the agony of defeat, so no need to aggravate the losing side.

I try to always win with class, and lose with class (that's the challenging one)...even if personally I have no class. :D

PS I don't really have any problem with moonie and HHusky. They seem like good guys. They aren't punks...even if they are profoundly sadistic bastards. :D Congratulations to you for the win. You beat a very good team.

I was watching the game with some apathetic Coug "fans" which was OK. But there was a jack Husky in attendance. This person literally could not name 2 Huskies if their life depended on it, and probably couldn't even name 1, but was positively HIGH, going around gloating, feeding off the crowd's hatred. I've read a half dozen accounts of last night on this board of people experiencing similar. Even the jacks who know their football are intolerable, but the fact that this particular gang seems to attract even people who are in it just to f--- with other people says a lot about these guys.

Oh Chip, you've always been so sensitive. If you're taking anything serious it's on you. I was fully prepared to take some lumps after a loss this year but you know...SNOW.

"Always"? You've been here like 2 or 3 years. Be a good person and go celebrate with your own guys, don't come here and antagonize. Thanks for stopping by.

Completely different crowds. On one hand people who had real world experiences at an early age, shared the same experiences with others in a unique college environment. On the other, Seattle sports fans pissed off at life that they couldn’t get past community college, and 90% of the rest being trust fund babies that got into UW on grandma and grandpas merits and money.

Not in my book and you guys looked pretty scary and fully capable. It was a game yesterday and I think it's even more so if you're coach goes with the run more.

After 3 losses you can say that. But every Husky had visions of a NATTY dancing in their heads. Sorry man.
