Bethel v. Kennedy tonight on ESPNU

I don't follow recruiting much but I know Smalls had us on his list.
Did he ever commit to a school?

He’s going to UW.

WSU is one of his six finalists.

Probably quite a few Cougs in his ear with all the alumni in South King Co.

Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee, Washington and Florida State are the others from what I heard on one of the radio shows last week.

CML has promised Smalls a chance to play offense and defense.

That's got to be intriguing.

Lol it's not though.

1. He wants to go to a school with a top business school. UW is tops on the list for business schools in his top 6... it's one of the better business schools in the country, and he's well aware.

2. He wants to go to a school where academics and football are treated as equally important. UW is far and away tops on his remaining list there as well.

3. He's playing football with Sam Huard. He is super good friends with Sam Huard. He is attending UW games with Sam Huard. He is going to have Sam, Damon and Brock in his ear all year... far better than some "Cougs in South King County."

4. He said he wants to "continue" to be an influence on the community he grew up in, in Seattle.

5. His parents desperately want him to go to UW... and sure as hell don't want him to go to WSU lol

6. It's fair to say Tennessee and FSU are eliminated based on their starts to the season. WSU never had a chance (be real). It's between UW, Oregon, Bama... and if you believe what he says about academics + the obvious connections... it's UW.

He's just looking for a few more special coffee deliveries before he signs with BAMA. You and your purple friends will gladly oblige.

You forgot:

7. “As I start to see and think about who’s really going to be in it, I really wanted to be honest with Washington and I don’t want to waste their time, when they could be spending it on the betterment of their program,” Smalls told 247Sports. “I didn’t end up getting to any of their spring practices because I just wasn’t feeling right about going there and having them recruit me when I’m not going to end up going there.” May 2019

8. UW in top 6 per Aug. 18 without much said about UW, so who knows, but #7 is rather damning.

I really hope that's not the case. Smalls or any recruit for that matter should make their own decision without a bunch of "adults" in their ear who only have their best interest at heart.

Let the coaches do their jobs and the kid make their own decision. The way Seattle-area UW fans handle recruiting makes me sick.

That’s a yikes from me dawg. Good luck to Savell where ever he goes including UW. To spend time like you do trying to convince other fanbases where a teenager is going to school is weird.

He’s desperate for validation from another team’s board posters. Esteem issues for sure.

Validation? Lol no. I'm simply here to call out the lunacy and dream land you guys live in like 80% of the time.

I only click on threads where I know something stupid is going to be said... like pretending that Smalls is going to be a Coug

That's rich, coming from a Husky...whimper back to your kennel, pls.

Rich? What exactly have I been dreaming of that hasn't come true? Making at least a NY6 bowl and/or Playoff 3 of the last 3 years at the Cougs' expense is all I can wish for as a Husky fan.

I'm totally content as a fan!

Like I said, low self esteem—a good uw football team will never make your sad existence better. Your boy Jacob Eason though...that’s another story.

It’s creepy AF...and very UW. Trying to cling to the hope of being elite.

How has clinging on to hope of beating the Huskies in the Apple Cup gone? Lol I've read this board's messages for years coming up with the all the ways this year is gonna be the one...

Then ALL the excuses for why it doesn't happen.

I don't really care or not about being elite. It's fun winning P12 Championships and attending big bowl games... and honestly, going into every one I didn't hold on to much hope for a win. We were the lower ranked opponent in every one of em... it's easy to see when we're likely overmatched. That mindset is clearly something Coug fans can never exercise lol.

It's always: The Huskies can't stop the air raid!!! derrrr!!! speed!!! derrrrrrrr!!! Minshew derrrrrrrr!!!

It’s gone about the same as it does for every Northwest professional and collegiate team. Hope and optimism followed by failure to win on the biggest stage.

Seattle sports suck. Really, really badly. You know that, which is why it’s so puzzling that you frequent a NW rivals fan board and wonder why their fans say this is the year.

Seriously? A uw fan comes here to talk about a losing streak to a school? You guys whined and bitched so much during your recent losing streak to Oregon that you should know better and be permanently banned from talking smack about a streak.

Where did I pretend that? Read my post above... it very clearly says I've felt we were overmatched when given the opportunity to prove otherwise.

You strangely take pride in visiting a rivals fan board, one where the the school has tremendous financial and geographical disadvantages to the program you support.

I’m from Boston. Everything about that cities sports culture is superior to Seattle, and it always will be. Still, why would I log onto a Mariner, Sonic (RIP), or Seahawk fan board and remind their fans about their National irrelevance? If you’re under 20, I’ll give you a pass. If you’re not, step into the light.

Yeah and I'll freely admit Oregon was a far better program over that span. I didn't go into any of those games with much hope for a win. Cougar fans act like they are going to drop 70 on UW before every Apple Cup.

Lol @CougPatrol... do us all a favor and don't lump UW and WSU into this Northwest BS. The 2 are not equal under one roof. You don't like the money and geography advantage? Funny... I don't see Utah complaining. They chose to play in Pac 12 and have fielded numerous quality teams along multiple sports... Maybe WSU should move to a conference that better represents their stature as a school?

Your fanbase as a whole were insufferable. Again, no uw fan should ever talk any smack about a losing streak to another school, no matter if you were level headed or not.
