Actually - as far as commentators go, Doug Gottlieb made a strong candidacy for the Okie State job last year but essentially got passed over for lack of D1 experience.
Not saying he's worth any more of a look than anybody else but he comes from a deep coaching family, has coached at the junior level and can talk a mile a minute. Tied in tight on the SoCal AAU circuit, too.

A funny anecdote Bill Walton and another commentator were discussing the Nebraska job (True Story). The other commentator mentioned Dana Altman. Bill Walton of course said no way. The commentator said" he's from Nebraska" Bill Walton s response" that s why he s from Nebraska !! " .

Luke has a great FM DJ voice, but no thanks as a HC. His Lakers record is abysmal and even with (3) #2 picks and arguably the NBA’s GOAT, he’s looking at another sub-par .500.
