Rumors are he has offers of 150-400K for one year. Difficult for anyone from 20-70 years old to say no thanks to that.
Sad

Smith has done a great job considering the portal and NIL. Raveling took several years, Sampson did a lot in a short time period, and Dick set up Tony. None had to deal with the things Smith is dealing with. What Smith has done at WSU in his time is right up with those accomplishments. No, he hasn't made it to the big dance, but it is just a matter of time. Wishing for another coach at this time is asking for a lot more problems. Yes we can talk about mistakes, but he has the program headed in the right direction.
make it more intimate? the same people who go will still go, the others will not. I see no advantage to a small facility ovr a larger one, you want intimacy why not go back to bohlerLoyal...it aint about you. Make it more intimate. If we sold out 12000 I would say yes don't do anything. But kids don't care if they go and are part of the experience. And truth be told if they do go it is to take a selfie and say they were there and bust out at half. Not saying good, bad or indifferent, just saying the need for that large capacity isn't there, and a more cozy experience would be better for the program.
Graduation is once a year. How many sold out concerts are there?
I think Smith has done a very good job at WSU since he arrived, especially given the new and unique challenges (Portal & NIL) that his predecessors didn't have to deal with. He also re-established the program as competitive after Ernie Kent drove it into the ground. Especially for those of us who have followed Cougar basketball for 5+ decades, Smith has been one of the more successful coaches we've had, despite not being able yet to take the team to the NCAA tournament. The only caveat I have when comparing Smith to Rav, Sampson, and the Bennetts is that the conference was much tougher when those guys coached at WSU. Smith's back-to-back winning seasons in conference play involved a softer bunch of Pac-12 teams.Um not sure where you got your information but as always you are wrong. Sampson’s last 3 years in the conference he was 9-9 twice and finished with 10-8 record
I haven’t heard much rumbling to get rid of Coach Smith I think his seat is pretty cold at the moment.
I speak “mik”. 9-9 is not a winning conference season .. which I think mik was attempting to say …Um not sure where you got your information but as always you are wrong. Sampson’s last 3 years in the conference he was 9-9 twice and finished with 10-8 record

That would almost be an option . There is very little advantage at home when you have 2500 in a 12000 seat stadiummake it more intimate? the same people who go will still go, the others will not. I see no advantage to a small facility ovr a larger one, you want intimacy why not go back to bohler
