Bomba to test NBA and to the Portal

Smith has done a great job considering the portal and NIL. Raveling took several years, Sampson did a lot in a short time period, and Dick set up Tony. None had to deal with the things Smith is dealing with. What Smith has done at WSU in his time is right up with those accomplishments. No, he hasn't made it to the big dance, but it is just a matter of time. Wishing for another coach at this time is asking for a lot more problems. Yes we can talk about mistakes, but he has the program headed in the right direction.

While Smith hasn't gone to the dance, something that Sampson has done that Smith hasn't, Smith has had 2 WINNING CONFERENCE RECORDS(2 11-9'S), BACK TO BACK SEASONS, something that SAMPSON NEVER EVER DID AND NEVER EVEN HAD ONE WINNING CONFERENCE RECORD IN 7 YEARS, LET ALONE 2 WINNING CONFERENCE RECORDS IN BACK TO BACK SEASONS(Sampson's BEST was 8-10, followed by 9-9(His NCAA tourny year)

Only Raveling, and Tony Bennet have done what Smith has done in 4 years in the last 43 years.

And Raveling had 2 less PAC 12 teams(PAC 10), and 2 less conference games then Smith had, and Raveling, Tony didn't have to deal with all the Portal, NIL, Injuries, players leaving early to NBA, all the BS all combined together that Smith has had to deal with.

Let's let that SINK IN.

Smith HAS DONE BETTER CONFERENCE RECORD WISE THEN SAMPSON.

Smith is in ELITE WSU coaching company, and is PRETTY BLOODY DAMN GOOD coach.

Again let's let that SINK IN.

But oh no, let's wish, hope, try to get better then Smith, and get STUCK with a GRAHM, STEVENS, KENT, ETC, AGAIN.

Um not sure where you got your information but as always you are wrong. Sampson’s last 3 years in the conference he was 9-9 twice and finished with 10-8 record
I haven’t heard much rumbling to get rid of Coach Smith I think his seat is pretty cold at the moment.

Loyal...it aint about you. Make it more intimate. If we sold out 12000 I would say yes don't do anything. But kids don't care if they go and are part of the experience. And truth be told if they do go it is to take a selfie and say they were there and bust out at half. Not saying good, bad or indifferent, just saying the need for that large capacity isn't there, and a more cozy experience would be better for the program.

Graduation is once a year. How many sold out concerts are there?
make it more intimate? the same people who go will still go, the others will not. I see no advantage to a small facility ovr a larger one, you want intimacy why not go back to bohler

I think Smith has done a very good job at WSU since he arrived, especially given the new and unique challenges (Portal & NIL) that his predecessors didn't have to deal with. He also re-established the program as competitive after Ernie Kent drove it into the ground. Especially for those of us who have followed Cougar basketball for 5+ decades, Smith has been one of the more successful coaches we've had, despite not being able yet to take the team to the NCAA tournament. The only caveat I have when comparing Smith to Rav, Sampson, and the Bennetts is that the conference was much tougher when those guys coached at WSU. Smith's back-to-back winning seasons in conference play involved a softer bunch of Pac-12 teams.

Glad Cougar

I speak “mik”. 9-9 is not a winning conference season .. which I think mik was attempting to say …

That would almost be an option . There is very little advantage at home when you have 2500 in a 12000 seat stadium

Well I hear UW paid the Kentucky guy 500K for last year. Probably 500K for the UO center and a total of 2 million to include a chunk for none other than Noah.

Big time basketball

The number of GU players on Spokane TV is extraordinary. Can't hardly watch a local ad with out one of them making some NIL money.
