The staff is really getting out there and making contact with a lot of players. Can't sign any of them if you don't approach them and offer.

On a side note, the official WSU site and roster still lists Shaw and Phelps as the only two assistant coaches. Is there a third assistant hired yet? I thought the Director of Operations had also been hired, but he's not listed yet either. I assume all this recruiting is being done by more than just Smith & the two assistants named.

Yes, Coach Plank and Coach Andrzejek. The later is the Analytics guy. Sort of like the schedule and the roster, more important to keep working for 2020 and 2021 than do the stuff that isn't very important.

At least they are dreaming up something, even if it is lame. They are trying. Previous regimes didn't do much this time year. There is nowhere to go but up. Hopefully, it will be like when Mike Price first became coach. He did several dumb motivational things that first year. He learned that they were dumb and stopped doing them.

Nope, maybe a contract issue with his former job. Believe it was the JC guard who thanked him in his announcement of commitment.

Maybe he isn't full time as of yet.

Sounds like the analytics do not apply to the coaching staff? This kid sounds like a Stanford kid to me. Stanford is the holy grail of academic motivated kids with high GPA s and test scores.

I really like those "Stanford kid's". Cowgill was a "Stanford kid". During the Montgomery years they always would have a 6'10"+ kid who would come off the bench and kill us.
