This is purely unscientific (obviously), but I’ve noticed this season that the fans who are staying away seem to be the loudmouths who yell curses at the team and coaches at the top of their lungs. There have always been 1 or 2 of them near where I sit, and this year they are absent. There’s certainly been no shortage of things to be irritated about, so I’m chalking this up to the silver lining of COVID.

Are they all wearing masks?

Did you see Ed there and was he wearing a mask the entire time. Don't want to get that dreaded bad flu, right? That would be so scary. 😀

Most of the people around me were not wearing masks. More importantly they were not yelling “ROLO, RUN/PASS THE F**KING BALL!!” in my 5-year old’s ear.

I wouldn’t know Ed if I tripped over him.

Well if you tripped over Ed, I could always chime in with a too funny to help with the identification :)

Glad people were being classy and were aware of their surroundings. Lets hope the trend continues.

Of my immediate seat neighbors, only one couple renewed.

Is yelling at the refs and the other team part of your list? If so you are wrong, I’m still there but i did move to a new section. If you’re in section 25 I apologize for my past transgressions.

on a related note, I also noticed a good chorus of F the Huskies by the students on
the way out

No need. Mine were worse.

Where the yelling. “Let’s go Brandon?”

I am going to find Ed (I have contacts to help me) and cough all over him next chance I get (next Saturday in Pullman).

I'll see if he's wearing a mask.

No, I've got no problem with standard football noise. It's the pointless f-bombs screamed at our own team, often mixed with instructions that prove a lack of basic football knowledge, that bother me. Actual historical example:

"JESUS, LEACH. THROW IT TO THE F'ING TIGHT END" (then to the people around him) "Our tight ends are always open, and we never use them"

Almost no one, including myself, were wearing a mask inside the stadium. In addition, they didn’t even ask to check are wrists, (ink stamped) at the gate for COVID VAX compliance.

Thought that was interesting

It is probably safe to assume that the other team's D did not cover our TE's during the Leach era.
