Cougs drop the 5th place game to the Rams. Back to the familiar formula of a pretty good first half, but blitzed in the second half. Defense broke down in the last 20 minutes with CSU repeatedly pounding the ball inside to their big guy with not much to stop him. On offense, same poor shooting especially from Elleby & Bonton, a combined 10-35 and 4-18 from three point area. I just don't know why Bonton is allowed to shoot so much. He was 3-16 again today and must be one of the nation's worst percentage shooters among players with a high number of shots taken. Unfortunately, Marvin Cannon didn't do much today even though he had some opportunity. The bright spot was Tony Miller with 10 points and numerous steals. He may have earned a lot more playing time. Vova had a decent first half. Smith says they need a lot of practice time at this point as they have hopefully identified a lot of things that need work. I'm not sure WSU reaches double digits in wins this year....but would like to see them be better by year's end than they are now.
