Good stop by the D, then the CU kicker chokes. Still 14-0 Cougs!!

Please triple-team Nelson Spruce - already 8 receptions for 103 yards in the first half with time to play. The dude is their entire offense. Shut him down and you shut CU down. Halftime adjustments, baby.
 
Spruce is a player.
Cougs were unlucky on the fumble. They didn't get the ball and Colo gets a big gain out of it. A WSU recovery and it's probably 21-0 right now.
Buffs miss a FG so in the end all they did was take time off the clock.

Charme has gotten better at directional punting as the season has gone along. Another kick out of bounds inside the 5 yard line
 
I'm pretty happy with ST and defense tonight - it's been about a decade since I could say that. Here's to hoping the 2nd half plays out the same way.
 
This has been a slow methodical game. CU has to be happy only being down by 14. They are thinking it should be 14-6. They come out and score, this game has a different feel.

Not many expected a Cougar blowout. Buffs have been in a number of games and their young QB is better than expected.
This first drive in the 2nd half is big. The good news is that the Cougar defensive coach has been good at making adjustments in the 2nd half and maybe they have picked up a few things on the Buffs offense.
 
Defense has played great. O needs to produce. Would like to see a few more deep downfield throws and on 3rd down sure wish we would throw beyond the sticks. Pass to the flat on 3rd down hasn't worked. Nice job of running the ball !!

CU is dropping deep. That is why there are so many underneath throws and Falk having such a high completion percentage (21-23).

The line has actually played well tonight. Especially when there is two starters out.
 
Nice drive so far by Bender to take the Cougs into the Buff zone.
Even a FG is huge hear to keep it a 3 score game.
Hope Luke is OK and it's good to hear that he hasn't been taken to the hospital and is waiting in the locker room.
Classy tweet by the injured Buff QB hoping that Luke is ok.
 
I can't believe the confidence Bender is showing . You would think that the Cougs would run the ball three times once they got inside the 25 and go for the FG but instead they go for the jugular and the TD.

These refs are pretty consistently giving bad spots. Systematically overestimating field position by 2-3 yards every time.

C'mon Coug defense, don't give up now. Don't punish me even further for staying up late.

Honestly, if I had to guess he got his bell run (big concussion) last week. He was put back in and survived, but the last thing he could afford to do 6 1/2 days later is take another one of those shots and he did. 2 rapid-fire concussions is a bad situation. It would probably be irresponsible to even try to play him in the AC at this point.
 
Luke is going for tests, better to take precautions.
I was not surprised Leach went for it on 4th and 5. He is getting Bender ready for similar situations if he has to start the Apple Cup. It's up to the defense to hold on now and it's 4th and goal.

This one is over.
Right now the focus is on Luke but if his health is in any doubt for next week then you go with Bender.
Luke is only a sophomore.
