Efe and Gueye startingI wonder if they go with Jakimovski as a starter tonight? Get the offense off and keep the early fouls down for either Efe or Gueye.
Makes sense. Just listened to Smith and he discussed their length plus mentioned Jakimovski rolled an ankle in the last game. Good to have Bamba back although probably has some rust.Efe and Gueye starting
Not sure what he did wrong.Noah seemingly never does anything right.
not talking about any current play although his last offensive foul was awful. he has just made bad passes, bad fouls, bad turnovers and is shooting under 20% from three all yearNot sure what he did wrong.
And yet, in big moments Coach Smith has him out there. The team is winning, and all you want to do is complain. There is something wrong with that. What about Jaki taking a quick shot instead of running clock. What about Gueye missing three straight free throws late in the game, including the front end of a one and one. I watched this game and Williams was busting his butt on defense. They win as a team, and lose as a team.not talking about any current play although his last offensive foul was awful. he has just made bad passes, bad fouls, bad turnovers and is shooting under 20% from three all year
Missing free throws hurt. They didn't handle the Stanford press very well. Plus, Stanford got hot from the outside. But, this is a game they likely would have lost earlier in the season. Road victories are never easy, and Stanford is not a bad team.Well, didn't build on the lead but held on and got the win. Chance for a sweep which would keep us in the discussion for another week.
Agree on the good defense from Noah tonight but no question decision making is a struggle. He made a pretty brilliant pass for an easy finish, but momentum takes him into Keefe and he picks up the offensive foul wiping off the Gueye dunk. He looks healthy so I'm hoping it's just finding his rhythm. We are of course a lot better if he can start to produce on the offensive end.And yet, in big moments Coach Smith has him out there. Not true. I am frustrated with him frequently but he does "right" things.Noah seemingly never does anything right.
They were in the 30s KenPom heading into this game. Both these games are huge and gets them one step closer to the tourney. If they beat cal they are gonna be in pretty good shape with some solid momentum heading into the Zona game which should be a nice turnout and a tough environment w 5 straight wins. Finally a win over a team in the "Top Half" of the Pac12 conference (Stanford is in 7th place, barely).

That was unfortunate and there was a time that a play like that wasn't called if the ball left the hand before contact. Cougars are currently in 4th place. But, that will probably change with both the uw and Oregon playing right now.Agree on the good defense from Noah tonight but no question decision making is a struggle. If Spencer Jones would not have got hot late and hit everything near the end, WSU would have won by at least 15. I wonder how much higher the Cougs would have been?Went from 36 to 31
Noting that Boise State is one spot above us.Went from 36 to 31

The "charge" had zero to do with the play. The pass was probably in Gueye's hands before Noah runs into Keefe. To me that's not good defense and in general I'm not a fan of the way the charge is called these days but as long as they call it both ways it is what it is.That was unfortunate and there was a time that a play like that wasn't called if the ball left the hand before contact.
