i sort of know the location of where he lives (he actually told me), but i'm not sure if he sold or listed his house.

$158/sqft on 0.2ac? Holy smokes, Pullman is expensive! That's about what our house in Kirkland was running. And Pullman is no Kirkland ....

He might need to get rid of the shed/film room that seems to be a foot off his neighbors property line. Would love to know how how he got that variance :)

The same way most people do, chat with your neighbors, get them to buy off and start building.

Between the COVID and the riots and looting, Pullman may actually be worth more these days.

Housing prices in Spokane are going through the roof the last few weeks. Crazy numbers for nice but not insanely nice homes.

Not to mention that Pullman's school district probably compares favorably with Kirkland's?

My understanding is that the Lake Washington and Inglemoor school districts are top schools. My kids got a private Catholic school, so it's no skin off my nose. And this report indicates they rank above PHS.

Unless it's west of Market, Kirkland is no great shakes. Lot more jobs and $ there, though.

My guess is Pullman SD is far superior.
Wouldn't want Pullman SD (or Seattle SD for that matter)

Had a prof (during the low pay era) explain that he felt bad for the kids and especially the teachers in Pullman SD.

Quiet a few of the boomer profs got their Phd's during Nam to avoid the draft. Some of them as profs not especially motivated and the low pay made things worse.

Then some Pullman SD teacher (probably younger and from a "teacher's college") has to tell the Boomer parent that Jr is a lazy dumb ass (and probably an apple falling close to the tree). Not in every case obviously but more than you would think.

Also Pullman HS kids because it being a college town don't get to live out the fantasy that as hot sh** high school kids they actually matter

Juanita--parts of it--are pretty hip. Damn nice houses on the water side of Juanita Drive. We were up on Finn Hill, which is pretty average.

I will personally miss Leach....he took us from the cellar to being a North contender annually. The facility investments wouldn't have likely happened if it weren't Leach/Moos.

I know some of our fans are fickle and can't look past Apple Cup losses, but for those of us that have been "in this together" (Cougar football boosters), I will be forever grateful Mike Leach joined our school.

Yeah, Juanita is pretty nice, especially if the waterfoul haven't left Juanita Bay a no-go zone. Commuting from there is a bear. I used to spend a decent amount of time up in that area.

Find me that house in Kirkland and I will buy it. Our daughter lived in Kirkland for years and house Hunting with her was a joke. She had the brains to move to Scottsdale and closed on a house today.

I like the only remaining Sea Galley. Good eats and strong drinks.
Oh boy, could tell you some stories that started with Long Island Ice Tea specials at Sea Galley...

or maybe not. I can't seem to actually remember the stories - too many long islands. But I bet they were EPIC!

Yakima has changed in the last 15 years and it’s not for the better. And Minors is over rated.
Miners took a dive when Ray died. A big one. Now they're just an oversized fast food burger.

Yakima is a cesspool. Most of the valley - at least as far as Sunnyside - isn't much better.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like Spokane either. But there's no comparison between the two.

Unfortunately Yakima missed the boat. They could have been the wine capital but let others like Walla Walla seize on that opportunity .

They do have two really big AAU sporting events that are really well attended and organized. I remember the first one was probably 9 years ago for third grade soccer. My first sight of Yakima was 9 police cars on the off ramp search a vehicle right before the first ave exit. Later that night I am watching the news and they must have had four shootings that eve.

The next year's Best of the West tourney we are at a Starbucks in Safeway between games and when we get back to hotel my wife sees her phone is missing. Someone stole it from her purse. A great officer comes to our hotel, says "I hope you have insurance as that phone is gone". I said not it is not, it is at this location in Grandview. iPhones have the find my iPhone app on it.

The officer said I know someone down in Grandview, maybe he can go to that address. Sure enough at 1030 the officer brings the phone back to our hotel. He went way above the call of duty.

He recognized the reputation Yakima has among many westsiders, and he is trying to change that one person at a time.

City of destiny (Tacoma) has the hottest real estate market in the nation...
I respectfully disagree. Yes, Tacoma is blowing up, and has the hottest demand in the state, regarding Buyers, but would have to say the Austin, TX is hotter. Boise is doing well, Seattle remains hot.....but the jumbo market is challenged, because Buyers' will need to have 12 months in reserves to qualify, or 50% down. All good, and yes Tacoma is blowing up, but Austin is like crazy blowing up.

MI - hottest or fastest....might have changed since February, but this was the message.

Locally, i've heard things still getting snapped up quickly. I'd imagine "inner city living" is getting a second look based on the current state of affairs in Seattle. I'd hate to live on Capitol Hill now personally.
We've been in multiple offers since 2012 in so many King County neighborhoods, with higher rated school districts.
.
Tip: Best time to be a Buyer is July-August, (most inventory = Buyer's are not bidding up). Best time to be a Seller, is November-February, (very low inventory = Buyer's are bidding up).
.
Yes, there's a lot of owners' in Cap Hill that want out, and eventually sell, especially if they are going to raise a family, (generally Amazon or IT tech seller/buyer).
.
Tacoma, all year for Buyer's bidding it up, multiple offers, (Highest Price and Best Terms). All because of supply and demand.

I am moving from Austin this weekend. It is ridiculous here. They can’t build houses fast enough. It’s not as expensive as Seattle but it will be there soon enough.

and Austin has Mcmansion suburban sprawl.
