First time poster....

I've been reading all of the ideas and speculations about a new DC. I read in one thread the idea of promoting Ken Wilson. I like that idea. Wouldn't be very popular but it could work. Also, promote Mike Bethea to LB Coach. Again, not thrilling but you save a little $ and keep continuity of staff and go out try to get one of these guys to come and coach the DB's:

SJSU DB Coach Donte Williams - He's a serious recruiter in the L.A. area and has coached in the state of Washington previously. As much as scheme is a factor, so is getting serious talent and he has showed he can do both.

SDSU DB Coach Tony White - Just like Williams, he's a very well respected recruiter and DB coach. Is also the recruiting coordinator as well.

The best way to get great student athletes to Pullman is to get great recruiters in Pullman and these 2 guys could address both of those needs in a move that is effective and wouldn't cost a great deal.

Thoughts?

we're hemorrhaging in excess of $10mm/year. "saving money" should be our very last concern. Leach should hire the very best he can find, regardless of what we might think about it.

I don't think we need a stand alone DC. Wilson would retain his LB coach title, and add DC. I suppose one of the other new coaches could cover LBs too if necessary.

I think your DB coach should be former DB. I'd also like a guy, maybe a little younger, that can recruit.

I think the DC needs to be someone that can provide a little splash.

If we did go back to a 4-3, coach Joe could be the interior line coach and someone else could coach ends.

This total and complete bullsh*t.

Revenue for WSU in 2013 Football - [/B]$26.9 Million
Expenses for WSU football in 2013 in Football - 15.7 Million

for a Football Surplus of 11.2 Million

The Athletic Department is actually starting to make money for the first time in a LONG time. As much as people on here complain about Moos and Leach and all that crap you all have absolutely ZERO idea how the athletic program is actually improving and changing.

That money also pays for the rest of the sports programs and athletic departments.

... because manipulating statistics within a budget to avoid the fact the AD operating deficit has exploded under Moos now exceeding $10 million, based largely on unrealized faulty revenue estimates is cool.
