Fiesta still in play?
The Fiesta Bowl is definitely our most likely destination at this point.
My guess is Alamo. If it had been an exciting game maybe but not the way we got run.No f-ing way. Alamo at best.

In what world are college football voters so checked into Cougar football that they’re giving us the benefit of the doubt on a 2-score home loss? Same people who voted for LSU and OU like WSU didn’t exist. The CFP may not be great but they are not blind. Everyone could see the elements were a major factor in this game

Wow, we have people talking smack about players and calling them wussies but I'm not liking the evidence I'm seeing here about our fans. WSU is 10-2 and is currently ranked #8 and will probably fall 3-4 spots to #11 or 12 this week. As others have mentioned, the weather will be taken into account and our overall body of work will be looked at. If #8 WSU should be concerned about losing, shouldn't #10 Ohio State be just as concerned? West Virginia lost yesterday as well so they aren't jumping us. Texas is going to get beaten by Oklahoma in their rematch next week (I hope). Barring chaos in the next week or so, following is one guess at the final rankings after conference championships.
#1 - 13-0 Alabama
#2 - 13-0 Clemson
#3 - 12-0 Notre Dame
#4 - 12-1 Michigan
#5 - 12-1 Oklahoma
#6 - 11-2 Georgia
#7 - 10-2 LSU
#8 - 12-0 UCF
#9 - 9-3 Florida
#10 - 10-3 Washington
#11 - 10-2 WSU
#12 - 9-3 Penn State
#13 - 10-2 Ohio State
#14 - 9-3 Kentucky
#15 - 9-4 Texas
Even if they put us at #13 behind Texas and Penn State this week, that won't matter as long as OU wins next week. I don't believe that they put Ohio State in ahead of us in an NY6 bowl game. They did beat Penn State by 1 point earlier in the season, but the rest of their season is crap. Minshew is still a good story and Leach is still a coach that makes for an interesting runup to a bowl.
NY6 Bowl Games
Orange - Alabama vs Michigan
Cotton - Clemson vs ND
Rose - UW vs Penn State
Sugar - Georgia vs Oklahoma
Peach - LSU vs UCF (this could be WSU instead)
Fiesta - Florida vs WSU (this could be UCF instead)
We need Utah to beat BYU and get to 9-3 and we need Stanford to win out to get to 8-4 (or Cal to get to 8-4). That would give us three wins against teams with 8+ wins. That compares favorably to any other team that we'd be competing against for a spot. It would be helpful if Florida lost to FSU or LSU were to get housed by Texas A&M because we don't really "need" four SEC teams in the NY6. LSU's sole good win at this point is over Georgia and they have a decent win over 8-4 Mississippi State. Other than that, their schedule sucks. A loss to A&M may cause them to fall below us.
The interesting quandary is what to do with Penn State and Ohio State. Both teams have a lot of mediocre wins. Each is likely to have only 4 wins (at most) over bowl teams. If Wyoming and Arizona both win this weekend, we'll have six wins over bowl bound teams. Ohio State beat Penn State in Happy Valley, so it wouldn't surprise me to see Penn State actually drop a spot in the rankings without losing and with teams above them losing. I figure the #12 spot goes to one of those B1G teams.
Or I could be wrong and the committee may decide to have 3 B1G teams and only 1 Pac-12 team despite the fact that neither Penn State or Ohio State really looks great at this point. We'll know a lot more on Tuesday of course.

In no dream scenario does a tOSU team with the same record as our beloved Cougs get ranked behind them. The east coast bias has been blatant this year, I just can't see us getting any respect at this point.
That would be a good matchup.
Looking at the playoff ranking. Will UW move past us? They may bump us out. Michigan and OSU will be ahead of us.....possibly Texas. I am nervous that we’ll be ranked around 14 with no real way of improving to the top 12 (mandatory for a bid).
I don’t think we drop 6 spots we may even stay ahead of UW
QUESTION IS
If Utah beats UW Utah is in the rose. At that point UW will definitely be below us at 9-4 vs 10-2. How does that shake out the bowls?
No way. Georgia smashed Tech and will jump in at least until the SECCG. OU jumps as well. Maybe they go in between LSU and OU at #6?Does OSU really jump to 4th with the Michigan beat down
