If you took the time to understand what is going on rather than expend energy trying to defend the brand, you’d know that it was for solicitation of prostitution with a minor.

The prostitution part is illegal in most of the country and it’s particularly disturbing for a 40 year old supposed man of principle trying to tap some 17 year old ass.

His own party in Minnesota has turned on him. Quit being such a pro-Trump wanker that you’ll overlook anything to protect the brand.

To me, it's not necessarily about the numerical age - it's more about life experience and what point in life you are. The typical person about 22-23 doesn't really have any life experience. They're barely done being a kid, and haven't found a place in the world. They probably aren't a good match for anyone who's over 40 and is looking at the back half. 59 and 27 is different life stages, 72 and 24 is very different life stages...but in both cases everyone's legally an adult, so...whatever. 40 and 17 is different life stages, and one of them is a child. I don't really care what age of consent is, that's just not right. It may not be illegal, but it's not right.

I guess the threshold is maturity. There’s a lot of maturing that generally takes place between 17 and 24. I have a 17 year old daughter…she’s all over the place. And if some 40 year old dude is trying to get into her pants he better be anonymous or dads gonna make a punching bag out of him. When she’s 24 she can make her own decisions. Couple years out of college if she wants to find a sugar daddy what am I gonna do about it? I wouldn’t be thrilled with it but you’re an adult you can make your own decisions. If I’m bills age and the GOAT, I wouldnt chase 24 year olds but with a bad divorce in the review mirror I’d have no problem with a smoking hot lady in her 40s.

That said, there is no positive spin to a 40 year old dude getting busted for soliciting paid sex from a 17 year old.

Frankly, getting busted for soliciting prostitution from a gal of any age should be an automatic fail for any 40 year old married guy with four kids.

You conveniently forget that death and bomb threats were made in 2022. I don't remember any actual bombings...but let's not pretend that the crowd on the right never uses violence or the threat of violence to make a point. Ask Paul Pelosi about the peaceful methods of the far right. And I already said that reasonable people don't condone people firebombing Teslas.

If you want to talk about the differences between the two discussions...there is a huge one. Bud Light committed the sin of spotlighting a transgender person in an ad....something that hurt nobody. Elon Musk is ruining the lives of millions of Americans. When it comes to boycotts and trying to boycott an American brand....which one's leadership did something that caused harm to others?

FWIW, I will likely never own a Tesla myself. I sat in a Tesla Model 3 at a Tesla store in Denver last month and it had a cheesy piece of crap interior. Cheap ass materials and overly dependent on the center stack screen. If I'm spending $50k on a car, it's not going to be a bland piece of crap that's only feature is that it goes fast in a straight line. It's the cherry on top to not be supporting a megalomaniac with zero empathy for normal human beings.

I have no problem with people choosing to not buy Tesla cars because they hate Elon Musk. That's a different conversation than burning them up. And Tesla isn't going to go bankrupt because a few dozen cars get burned. Tesla might go bankrupt because the MAGA crowd hates all EV's and the liberal crowd is threatening to quit buying Teslas.

Musk is just lucky that the US is already protectionist enough that BYD is not an option here. If that were not the case, he'd likely already be bankrupt.
