Game thread - ASU?!

FG still makes a 4 score game, really puts ASU against the wall, especially if our D can keep it up. Just need Janikowski to put it through.

Still would have loved to have 7.

Yeah, maybe. I tend to think our fans get a bit of joy out of suffering. Munchausin by proxy sort of crap. It is ok yo be happy Coug fans! No, really, it is ok!

Missed chance on that throw to the pylon. Would have iced this game.
Make this FG attempt to pad that lead.

Defense playing great through 3 quarters.
Maybe the Cougs have found their head coach.

FG good 31-7 Cougs

That probably takes ASUs running game out of it from here on out, but I’m not sure if that helps us or not.

Eat it ASU! Stop worrying about our record in the dessert. Means nothing to these kids. Neither does UCLA or any ither thing. He is a mobile QB too, has he killed us? No. Just get on board already.

Should have stayed in bounds on a couple more plays, but burning 6 minutes on that drive was what we needed most. Good to see some reasonable clock management strategy.

Because we cant get over shit as fans. I am 42 years in. Our fans are less than many others in regards to this. I get thw history, but that is not these kids history.
Well, the fans on this thread are likely very dedicated. I live in Seattle, and I’ve only missed one home game so far. With that said, the scars of past crushing losses will never fully heal. That’s usually a sign that you care a lot.

How nice is it to see us run an elite return man down from behind? That should eliminate any comparisons to the Wulff era.

Solid drive for the Cougs and ends up with a FG
34-7 in the 4th.
Nice first win for the coach. Cougs now 5-4 and 4-2 in the conference.

This teams is going bowling. Question is which one as all the remaining games look winnable.

For the team playing today? All of them.

I know this is silly of me but the Cougars have a fighter's chance of winning the division and playing for a conference championship. Rose Bowl anyone?

Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous on my part and I'm still a "one game at a time" kind of guy. Beating UO will be extremely challenging and this year has shown anyone can beat anyone else in the Pac-12 on any given day. Let's just play smart and hard like today....and let the chips fall where they may.

Glad Cougar

Hadn't considered the possibility until now, but it's out there. If we win out and the Beavers lose one, we win the north. Beavers and Ducks both control their own destiny. Beavs have Oregon and Arizona state still ahead (in Eugene and Corvallis), so I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop one. They also are at Colorado and host Stanford, and trail at Cal early.
Ducks are at UW next week, host us, at Utah, and host the Beavs.

If Utah beats UCLA tonight, they've got a virtual lock on the south. I like our chances in the rematch with them. ASU needs to win out plus two Utah losses, I like our chances against them less in a rematch. UCLA needs to win out and an ASU loss. USC theoretically could win the south, but they need 3 Utah losses...which isn't likely.

Whoever wins the Cougs/Ducks has a pretty good path to the north. I don’t see OSU beating both ASU and Oregon. Pretty crazy. Lots of football left. Gonna be a fun finish, I think more so without a legit national contender in the conference.

OSU isn’t going to beat CAL

I hate to admit it, but UW has a path too. If they win out and the beavers lose again (after tonight), they can win it. And they've got us and Oregon both in Seattle (along with ASU and at colorado).

Now she's singing.

Not a great showing for OSU, but more evidence that anyone can beat anyone.

Speaking of that, Arizona is within 10 of USC in the 4th quarter.

There is no dominant team in the league. If you don’t show up to play you’re gonna get beat.

I wish it it was 11 league games and 1 non con. I like the idea of the Pac 12 being focused on the Pac 12. I don't give a shit about the playoff, any other league, rankings, non con games… I care about the Pac 12 and the Rose Bowl.

At this point we might as well do that since we can’t beat MWC teams.

I'd like to go back to 10 team conferences, everybody plays 9. Non conference assigned by random draw. 10 conference champs and 6 at large teams in the playoff. No first round byes.

I'd also be on board with borrowing from - is it Premier league? If you suck, you get sent down to a mid-major conference.

Obviously it'll never happen.
