His competency is low. He is too close to having the wheel come off. He doesn’t make any high end plays to counter the knucklehead plays. He isn’t efficient enough and makes too many dumb mistakes to be a game manager… and he lacks any eye popping plays to be a game changer.
This is his 34th start. When does he turn the corner? When does he step onto the field and have control and command? When does he make things happen and have things happen?
If Mateer can’t beat him out he should transfer.
If your line is having issues blocking, you add tight ends to help. You add bodies to create angles and doubles for them. What you don’t do is line up 4 and 5 wide and give them 0 help.
UW with great field position again and need a FG to take the lead.
Not sure how the Cougs win this one the way the 2nd half is going.
Not blaming the defense, they have to be gassed at this stage.

1) Continue to ask kids to do what they cannot do.
2) Change.

It was. We just witnessed the first home town call in WSU history.
Cam needs to run. It helps him and the offense sooo much. He isnt talented enough to do it without running the ball.

It took the conference dissolving for us to finally get some calls by Pac12 Refs
It was not looking good for most of the 2nd half. I am SO glad that I was wrong though. Still a LOT to clean up on O.

technically hit at the one so that is where his 'forward' progress and fell back in the endzone. Looked weird since Cam was going backwards
Don't you have to start and complete a tackle in the endzone? Because the tackle started out of the end zone and was completed in it. I guess the officials don't know the rules like you do!

Crazy -- we picked up 2 key 1st downs on the ground to run out the clock after not being able run the ball all game (Cam excepted).

Sweet. So now your offense is the qb catching the snap and throwing right away. Swing passes, bubbles and quick outs. Not gonna get far if the DC is defensing 3 plays and they’re all passes.

what I meant to post was in relation to us at the end when we had the ball.
I think our Oline is just bad... slow, weak, bad angles for our backs trying run outside.
Spread and set more for vertical running vs. horizontal.
Unless Wisconsin is so powerful on run defense that it was true cause for us sucking azz on the run game... there will "probably be" 3 games where we get blown off the field

You have to help them. If your 5 can’t move their 3 or 4, add bodies. Make it a double team. Start pulling guys. Don’t block anyone head up. Cut the shit outta them. You can’t keep asking the OL to do what they can’t do.
Cam has to run. Called run. Draw play. Add another dimension for the defense to defend. What happens when he gets 40-60 yards per game rushing?
The kids in the B10 lift weights. It is a big, powerful league. The Pac 2 is not. The kids don’t do the work. So we will see what happens down the schedule.
There are winnable games on the schedule. It isn’t murderers row.
This is what I saw. Watson can run you saw it on the last drive, and we know Jenkins can too. This is a bad OLine which makes this game even that more impressive. Unfortunately there are teams on our schedule we will have to run the ball against to have a chance…and we just can’t. Oh well 2-0 is 2-0.
