In my opinion he has been a bigger fail than Larry Scott. He came in knowing exactly what needed to be done, expand and get a media deal. How he didn’t expand 6 months ago and get any media deal done is beyond me. His messaging has been absolutely atrocious since he has come on board for someone who supposedly has media background with the MGM. His whole keep everything close to the chest has done so much damage to the PAC-12 brand with whatever was left.

We could have hired the janitor at headquarters and would have been in the same position we are now. He has done absolutely NOTHING and everything he has tried has been an utter fail (BIG Ten and Big 12 alliance).

Just an absolute disgrace he has put the final nail in the coffin for this conference. We can point out he’s run by the school presidents but a leader can get the job done and rally the troops, something he clearly has not done.

Yeah....his resume is looking pretty bad if the current situation is his legacy.

The irony in all this for Kliavkoff is when all the teams have been plucked, the PAC12 will cease to exist and so will his job. Talk about digging your own grave...... What an effin tool. A door knob humping moron could've done a better job handling this.

Yes, he's been blindsided by USC, UCLA, and lately Colorado.

It's a really bad look to not even know what your institutions are doing. That is on him.

Overall, the PAC-12, led by GK, has been in denial that the West Coast has two fundamental problems that will not allow teams in the league to keep up with the big boy conferences: geography and culture. Those realities make it impossible to get the money they want vs what other P5 teams in the rest of the country received.

Add to that an academic snobbishness present at several PAC-12 schools, and you have a recipe for failure that even the most brilliant conference commissioner (if we had such a guy) cannot overcome.

Partially agree. Larry Scott thought he was smarter than he was, he dug this grave. George threw the dirt on top. This all could have been avoided if they’d cut bait with Larry after it was obvious he wasn’t up to the task which was like 4-5 years in.

Would we have the same $$ as the SEC? No, but the conference would be alive and viable and probably snatching whatever teams they wanted from rhe Big12, rather than the other way around.

Larry Scott at least got expansion and a media deal done. He wasn't able to take the next step but his early tenure was promising. George K got none of this done.

If we had gone after the Big 12 schools in earnest after OU and Texas left, we could have killed the Big 12. Instead, we huffed about all the schools that weren't worthy and now they are the ones laughing. Of course, the one bit of solace can be gained by knowing that it's only a matter of time before the B1G/SEC mega conferences decide to break away and leave the Big 12 and ACC squirming like the rest of us.
