Hey MI, this one's for you

ROOT Sports sucks too. Owned by the Mariners, a team that has no idea how to win.
Yeah, there's a huge uproar in Seattle about the company people love to hate, (Comcast) for raising rates.
Root Sports dropped the carriage agreement with DISH a few years ago, (because there's a partnerships with DirecTV Stream which AT&T owns a portion of RSN), so we only have two choices:

1. fubo
2. DirecTV Stream
Many people are unhappy, as it's all over the radio and print. Bad PR for Xfinity/Comcast. Root did not raise their rates, but Comcast forces you to bundle to their premium package. People don't watch 99% of the other stuff, and can't justify paying premium with Comcast when they only watch a few channels.

fubo is blowing up right now.

Hate to pay the huge monthly price, but I'm keeping my DISH, because the DVR and the advanced remote control features for football games is phenomenal and worth it, as their remote control technology is not matched by anyone else, including fubo. I'm very picky, hardly watch anything else on DISH, except college football. My wife does have it on in the background in her home office, though.
And anyone that has DISH, their DISH scapes is pretty amazing.

I can't feel good about paying for Fubo because of the way that they advertise their product. I was going to switch last month and was told it was $84.99. When I got to the final payment screen....it jumped by $13.99 (to $98.98) for "regional sports networks". Didn't want 'em....they didn't care. Bad business practice to pretend that $180 in annual costs isn't there until you get to the spot where the customer is punching in their card number.

Yep, lack on not transparency, and trying to sneak it by you, without disclosing it up front.....no one wants to do business with people or companies that try to hide hidden contingencies.

It loses trust, as consumers will go somewhere else.

It took me three tries and about 90 minutes in the phone to cancel fubo after their 3rd price increase in 3 months.

Sleazy company, in my opinion.

Fubo has no TNT or TBS. You like the NCAA tourney and Krakken playoffs?? F You!!

TV is such a racket nowadays.

I'm disappointed to see that the streaming services have basically become the same thing as the cable companies that we all wanted to quit getting screwed by. I left cable because I didn't enjoy paying over $135 per month for a bunch of channels that I wasn't watching.

On sling, I only watch Pac-12 Washington, ESPN and FS1 if the Cougs are on there. I don't spend any time watching any other channels for more than a few minutes. There are rare instances where there's a game on ESPN2 or ESPNU too...but other than that...just a bunch of crap that I don't care about any more. Most of the shows on cable are available via streaming without the crapload of commercials. I don't miss Sling one bit when it is turned off from mid-April to mid-August.

Yep. And I'm paying $70/mo to Sling to cover the possibility that the Cougs will be on ESPN or Pac-12 WA. Aside from those games, I don't use it at all, so sometimes I'm paying $70 for 0-1 games per month.

I think it was Colorado State that was on CBS sports, so I couldn't even watch.

But...the radio is free. Chazanow is no Bob Robertson, but it works. Brink isn't bad, but sometimes takes too long to make his point. I'd much rather listen to Brink than Walden though. Maybe I'll just go old school and listen to the away games. Then I can save some money, get other things done, and not have any of my money going to support the networks in their next realignment scheme.

This is exactly what I have done...I stream the broadcast on my phone, link it to our outdoor bluetooth speakers and work in the yard...This has worked pretty slick so far this season.

I have YTTV and frankly I don't care if I don't get P12 Network (I'm also out of market for something regional like ROOT), but it's the best overall IMHO.

Yeah, I hear YouTube TV is amazing. No P12N, though...like you said.

Streaming YouTube Premium, (absolutely ZERO commercials), to me is worth every penny, but it's not YTTV.

Don't get me started on the Bob Robertson replacement.

Also, we need a bronze statue. If I win the Powerball, the second or third thing I'm doing is directing money for an epic Bob Robertson Statue outside of Martin and Beasley.

Although, I envision Beasley will be imploded someday, (assuming G5 is in the rear view mirror)!

I wish it was cheaper.

I liked Sling back in 2019 and 2020.. my bill was like $54(for blue and orange) and had everything I wanted.

I think the only time it was an issue is if the Cougs played on regular fox.

I think they changed thing up since then.

I may have rocks in my head, but just a quick read through this thread is showing there is a huge demand for just a sports channel without all the nonsense.

Assuming many other fan bases feels the same as we do, and I am sure they do, there is a big void in the market place that can be filled with a lean sports network at a reasonable price.

Yep. DISH is truly superior, but expensive. That's why I won't give it up, and for 5 months out of the year, (August thru December). Crazy.

I think they have a pause option. Pause your service for up to 6 months, there's minimal monthly fee, then resume service later.

Sorta related. In 5 games, Cougs have been on CBS, ABC and Fox, back to ABC for Oregon.

I think every team has to be on P12 Networks at least twice a season (for football). Plenty of other options to watch content.

Heck, I think you can buy the P12 international plan, change your VPN to another country and watch the games right off your computer. (Or be a pirate and join the high seas, for free.)

YTTV is perfect for what it is. If I want more, I can go find it, but the price is reasonable, having a 4K toggle option (it's like a $5/mo add-on) and you can cancel any time with no issues.

I replied to Loyal regarding some options for P12 if you wanted to subsidize P12 Networks.

Will P12 Networks be around next August? Hard to say. Might be worth finding a less expensive (and easier) alternative option to gear up for when the Networks ceases to exist. If the B12 comes and gobbles the P12 Networks up, I bet it's available on most streaming options sooner than later. If it's a reverse merger with MWC, it's probably purchased for parts (goes away) or Apple does a low buy option and you'll have Apple TV+ (Apple TV+ production kicks a$$).

Another option is to do this:

My brother freeloads off me. How? I give him my User Name and PW and he streams my DishAnywhere account to watch games. Only one user can stream on DishAnywere at a time. So, I could be watching on my Dish Hopper at home via satellite, and he's streaming on DishAnywhere simultaneously. No problem. He freeloads all the time. Just another workaround.

My son showed me Sports Surge and Buffstream to get almost any sports on my phone. The only hang up is after you select the game you want, all the ads you have to continuously delete before the game comes on. If at home there is an icon on the bottom of the game playing for Air Play with my tv. FREE not counting phone bill. This may be old news, but new to me

Sportsurge recently started popping up porn ads for me. Graphic porn ads. In front of my wife. Didn't go over well, and honestly pissed me off pretty hard because I've been using sportsurge for a while and haven't had that issue. I'm not prude by any notion, but definitely don't need that content in the living room on the big TV.

Same here, but it does not go on the tv until the game is on

I dumped Dish last month, tired of them losing channels and not reimbursing or reducing you bill without bitching at them. Had root, the pac 12 and the local channels. Well they dumped Root almost 2 years a ago, always in a pissing match with the carriers of local channels, didn’t have CBS/ KIRO for over 7 months, prior to that it was NBC. There is is no end to the contract negotiations and blackouts

Trying to decide whether this a pro or a con for Sportsurge

So I realize the Chief game was on, so I scrolled down my cable channels. Nothing. It's on Prime Video! Seriously?

Too bad you terminated DISH.

My answer to no KIRO and CBS is as the alternative, I run Over-The-Air in HD. OTA Antenna on my roof, (chimney straps around the chimney to support the mast). With OTA, I bring in every local channel and a lot more. From Bellingham to Tacoma. All local TV Stations, in 1080p HD. So if I need to watch or record CBS, it's either OTA or Paramount +. Also, the OTA is displayed on the Guide, DISH's on screen interface. 007-01 OTA-HD.

Best of all....OTA is free. No monthly charge. All you need is the DISH OTA Adapter, an Antenna and RG6 Coax and run it into the back of your previous Hopper. Some people use indoor antennas and place them in the attic. I prefer Chimney Mount.

The quality of OTA is actually a little better than satellite, because it's a native signal. Now if you live in Snoqualmie, or North Bend...I have no idea what channels you can pull in. Any TV tech guy, including DISH can run a test from your location to see if you pull in Seattle and Tacoma.

That seems like so much work when YTTV is an option, but to each their own.

Amazon has the TNF games.
Amazon is no addional charge if you have an Amazon Prime account. The cost of Amazon prime is made up in fuel savings, by not driving around and purchasing items, that you can have delivered to your door with no shipping charges.

Sorry I don't do Amazon. And I like getting out and interacting with my fellow humans. And seeing and touching what I'm buying. Although I don't buy shit anymore. Amazes me when I see trash bins full of amazon boxes. At least recycle for shits sake.

Hear that. I try to buy local as much as possible (or small business).

It's the features on the remote with DISH that is hard to give up. Specifically for playback on recorded games.

And to me, it's not work. Audiophile and video enthusiast. Building and enjoying an acoustically treated dedicated listening room, and theater is not work, but a lifelong project of always tweaking and improving. That's why I use DISH Network. The world's best in DVR technology.

I don't golf, or have a boat....so you're right...to each their own.

But, I've heard YouTube TV is amazing. Love YouTube Premium with no ads, which is the most watched.

My wife loves Amazon and I use it more than I should, but it truly is an evil corporation that sucks the life out of our country and destroys lives. I was reading an article the other day about a couple different businesses that Amazon bankrupted. They would let small sellers use their site but when an item or group of items got popular, Amazon would sell the same things, lower the visibility of the small sellers and wipe them out. Wonderful company. I feel like a dirtbag whenever I buy something from there.

I try to limit my purchases from Amazon to things that I can't easily get in a brick and mortar store.
