Spurrier is a machine on twitter. Following prospects left and right. Soon after he follows him they get an offer as well. He followed a bunch of kids from Masillon HS back in Ohio.....now like 4 of them have offers and a couple might be visiting this weekend. (Rob Oviatt is there strength coach) He followed Gee Scott jr earlier in the week and now hes coming on a unofficial visit. Coach Shaver hasn't even mentioned anything about gameday on his twitter page. Couple others haven't followed prospects in a week or so. If you want to do a bang up job of recruiting these days you have to work hard at technology and relate to kids, their hs coaches, and sometimes family members. If I was this staff man I'd try to get as many 2019 and 2020 prospects on this campus this weekend. With Klay in the house doing the picks....and all the mania.....you will never have a better weekend to sell WSU

I don't think a lot of fans understand that you don't just call a bunch of people (recruits in this case) and bring them to Pullman last minute on a sold-out game weekend. 0% chance of flying in to Pullman itself. Lewiston - no flights there anymore unless you are coming from SLC.

So maybe you can get in to Spokane. And have to get down to Pullman. And fight the alleged 10's of thousands of people flocking to Pullman like Woodstock to see Gameday.

Most recruits fly into Spokane and are driven down by staff. Occasionally, recruits will be flown directly from Seattle into Pullman. There are still multiple available flights into Spokane from Texas and California. Lodging will not be an issue for recruits. If a recruit is on an official visit they will make a way.

Who might be making official visits to Pullman this weekend? I haven't seen anything.

I'll put my .02 on this question. I've been to many oh game and have seen the line of kids that line up on the NorthEast side of the field, prior to every game. Some are unofficial, some are official, I'd wager but it's kids and their respective families. They all have special passes to get there, ONLY for pre-game. I'd guess a minimum of 10 kids (and their moms and dads) are there every game. WHO they are, is another question. But I'd wager this game was circled on the schedule a loooong time ago. This will be a big recruiting weekend, I'm sure.

I'd also suggest this, from a 30K foot view. For so many of these players, to get into the recruiting cycle, is not cheap. To go to all the 7 on 7 camps, the Rivals camps, the 11 on 11 camps, the whatever camps... all just to get noticed. And all these camps are spread all over so it's a lot of travel costs for kids and their families. I'd use Falk as an extreme example of how he and his family literally moved to a different state so he could get more exposure. Yeah, that didn't work out for him but you get my point. There are some GREAT stories about players that came from less than fortunate circumstances making it. Quite a few. But to think there won't be some high school players that aren't going to come up is a bit myopic, I think. As long as the staff can arrange all of that, I'd say they'll move mountains to get recruits up here for this weekend. Official or otherwise.

I'll guess there will be a least a couple very high profile recruits at Pullman this weekend.

Looking some stuff up, Dontae Powell is there today (already committed). And an Arizona JUCO will be there tomorrow. Beyond that, who knows.

According to his twitter Bryce Beekman will be there. 6'3'' safety who is the #4 ranked juco safety. Also plays at Arizona Western JC with Powell. I think he will commit this weekend.

Didn't work out great for Falk? I'd argue it worked out the best it could have, considering his talent set. I mean, he's in the league, even if only on a practice squad. He wouldn't have even seen the field at a traditional powerhouse.

I worked out VERY well for us. But he lost a lot of traction with that move. He fell off FSU's radar and others. I'm not going to get into a "what if" game regarding if he would have gone to FSU or some other higher profile school.

Another kid I'd expect to visit this weekend is Daniel Isom. We offered him earlier this week. 5'10 185 lb corner from Northwest Iowa JC. He's a bounceback from NIU who played a ton as a true freshman (obvious Claeys and Phelps ties there) and as a high schooler he finished second in the state of Missouri in the 110m and 300 m hurdles. Not lacking for confidence.
