I'm picking the Cougs to "stun" a lot of people this year...

I expect the offense to be a mess with enough big plays throughout the year to foster optimism for the future. Just enough good to drive you nuts when our QB throws an ugly pick.

Exactly. That's what I'm expecting and looking forward to.

Maybe Borghi will get 20 runs a game after all to limit the mistakes

Very worried about the Dline.
We at least have some guys that look the part compared to the not too distant past: Crowder, McDougle, Echevarria, and Hobbs are all 290-300# guys, plus we have a good mix of long, fast ends and some bulkier guys to use situationally. On paper, we at least don’t look like a high school team this year. To me, LB and DB are bigger concerns.

Patrol, there have been a lot of teams who had a somewhat unsettled QB battle just prior to the start of the season. Generally it works out. Sure, I buy the anxiety, but in the greater scheme of things this is not a big deal. Not having the athletes (a bare cupboard) is cause for anxiety. But uncertainty outside the program about who is doing what is not a concern. Now, let's talk again after the first game. We'll know more then. And for the record, I am glad we open with OSU. The only PAC team I'd rather open with is Colorado.

I'm excited to see the new system, but there's always a gray cloud of anxiety when you don't know who your starting QB is 3 weeks away from the opener. If Cooper and Cruz are unable to take control of the job, I hope de Laura gets some reps.
I don’t mind de Laura getting reps in mop-up duty, especially in a season that doesn’t affect eligibility. But if he’s in contention for the starting job, we’re in serious trouble. He has talent, but he’s not ready based on what he displayed on ESPN last season.

Travion Brown is up to 235 from 210 last year. He’s going to be playing ILB. I’m really excited about this. Should be a pretty good rotation at ILB despite what the Woods naysayers have to say.

Thats how I feel about Cooper and Cruz. Neither of them were close to being ready last season.

What is the problem?

It looks like all they have to do is hand off the ball.

Menkenbaum had Kevin Brown who rushed for over 1000 yards.

Team was almost halfway to 7 wins when the season suddenly ended.
