Is there a solution to the bowl game/transfer portal mess?

Simple solution seems like it would be to just open the portal after the bowls are complete. I guess the problem there is the National Championship game is 1/9, the same day a lot of schools start their next semester. Kids playing in later games would have really short windows to transfer.

Reality is probably that the NCAA doesn’t care. But I know attendance is already way down at bowls and wonder if viewership starts taking a dive as well. Is any of that inventive for something to be done?

Here is what I would do . Open the portal from sept 25 to Nov 5. You enter the portal you can transfer immediately . Open the portal back up November 25 and if you decide to transfer then you sit for a year .

If your head coach leaves you can transfer without sitting unless you follow your coach. If you want to be Caleb Williams you would need to sit out a year.
