Seems to be what's in store with no Pac-12 team in the playoff. The LA Bowl is on 12/18, which is problematic. Sun Bowl is 12/31 and Holiday is 12/28.

I suspect it will be the Sun.

I have been reading the Las Vegas Bowl is a possibility. Regardless I am fine with whichever one we end up with after the kind of year we have had.

It really is incredible this thread even exits, and we have these options, including a chance at the championship game and the Rose Bowl...
I do feel that the negativity surround the program and the low home attendance puts us at a disadvantage versus every other program in the PAC12 we might be tied with for a specific bowl.

I'm not sure what negativity surrounds the program. The Rolovich mess was a disaster but every TV commentator I have heard has praised the teams resilience and ability to overcome obstacles. I think they are a good story. Who knows what bowl they will get but I don't think we are at a disadvantage because of anything that happened regarding the Rolovich mess.

Agreed. If we are at a disadvantage it is due to the fact we can’t even come close to putting butts in our own seats. Why would someone think we would bring fans to their venue?

The negativity was of course the mountains of bad press, and our coach and half the staff getting fired mid-season. I agree that it is 1000% better, but we are still facing another sh*t storm with the pending lawsuits and the uncertainty of who will coach our team next year. I think maybe people on this board have moved passed this and are feeling pretty good (I am), but for people that sponsor bowl games, if everything else is equal, all that baggage could be the difference.

Bowls like a good story. We are a good story. The pending lawsuit won't matter. Maybe we won't have a coaching uncertainty by then. For what its worth the ESPN guys have us either playing Clemson in the Holiday Bowl or Miami in the Sun Bowl.

If WSU beats the huskies, wins North title, loses Pac 12 championship game, WSU gets either Alamo, Vegas at worst.

If WSU beats Huskies, but does not win North title, if the WSU win vs Huskies is either a Domination or Blow out, then WSU likely gets Holiday Bowl at worst.

If WSU does not Blow out the Huskies, but stil wins, then its still likely WSU gets Holiday bowl, but chance might fall to Sun Bowl.

Only way WSU has high chance of Sun Bowl, is if WSU, just barely loses by skin of teeth to UW, and some other right losses happen. If those right losses dont happen, or if WSU gets BEAT by UW, then WSU falls a a bowl lower then the Sun Bowl.

Also WSU has traveled well to Holiday Bowl, and WSU is a good story, and its been a while, semi long time since last Holiday Bowl, so its just not likely WSU falls lower then the Holiday Bowl.

It could still Happen.

An anvil can fall and hit me on rhe head, as I leave my house too, doesnt mean it will happen because it can happen, despite it not being likely to happen.

WSU fans are just locked in the Poor Ole Little ole WSU always gets SNUBBED culture of the past.

and altho speculating on all this is nice, it doesnt hsppen if WSU loses to UW.

But thats not gona happen.

Again WSU fans are locked into the Poor Ole Little ole WSU culture of thinking oh woe is WSU, they will probably lose just like they always do vs UW.

Looking at this ON PAPER, there is, or should be about a 87% chance WSU wins.

Even the Beavs and similar teams to WSU dont expect to lose to a team as bad as thecHuskies. They EXPEXT to win, when there is every reason to think they should win.

And that's a winning culture, not like the LOSER mentality here by our fans.

And WSU SHOULD beat the Huskies.

But WSU still needs to play the game.

And thats the game the team, fans, etc, need to focus on, not over speculate on the bowls.

Beat the Huskies first.

And WSU will beat the Huskies.

Go Cougs!

I will also say that probably a small part of the reason on might probably why WSU loses to UW, is because of the LOSER mentality culture that WSU fans have, where they expect to lose, even when they should win.

Maybe its a Karmic reaction to that expectation, maybe that Oh Great Here we go again, WSU is either COUGING IT(The NEGATIVE way(Snatching Defeat from Jaws of Victory, version, not the positive version), or gona COUG IT, maybe that vibe or feeling from the fans, rubs off on the coaches, players, and or maybe even 1 player reads it, and it causes some bad plays due to oh woe is us head hanging, that loses the game.

If either the players, coaches, fans, or a person thinks they will not succeed, sometime to usually they dont, because either they will unconciously, subconciously, unawaringly, find a way to fail, or Karma causes them to fail, or something causes them to fail.

There is a reason why those colleges that have a 100 year history of having the fan base having a loser mentality culture, there is usually a reason why those colleges, usually continue to lose, even when they should be winning.

Its past time to change the Poor Ole Little Ole WSU, Oh Woe is WSU, WSU is gona COUG IT LOSER mentality, culture.

WSU is gona beat thw Huskies.

Go Cougs!

It's important to remember that a big part of the reason why attendance at WSU games is so bad is because of the pushback/frustration with Inslee's mandates. I know a guy who's had season tickets for 20 years who hasn't gone to a game since the mask mandate kicked in....and he's got six people in his group. I'm sure that he's not the only one.

I think we'll have a decent turnout for a bowl game if we win the Apple Cup. If we lose....well, at the least the team will have a nice trip and some extra practices.

Thanks for that reminder. I forgot about the mask mandate. Too bad for your buddy as there is zero enforcement of that mandate at the games. People do what they are comfortable with.

They'll check for your vax card or negative test results at the gate.
However once inside you're right, zero enforcement of the mask mandate. I knew when he announced it that it made no sense.

Even the vax card checks were lax. Friday was the first time the gate attendant even looked for my wrist band.

Consider also that at least two of our bowl options are in states that are significantly less restrictive than Washington.

History says we do. Have you seen the stadiums around the conference? It’s not pretty anywhere right now, with the exception of maybe Oregon and Utah

Love your spirit. Agree with most of this post with the exception of this comment.

Long in the tooth, diehard Beaver fans expect to lose big games.

And to be honest, for the Arizona game there was no real trouble social distancing if you wanted to be six feet away from another person.

Look at our ASU win. Lots of Cougs there which I would think looks good to the Bowls.

What does any of that have to do with talking about what bowl the Cougs may play in?

And as fans, our focus and attention doesn't impact anything.

I had 4 season tickets for years, (donor seats) cut it down to two, and travel to one game a year, net cost with food lodging and all is less with 2 tickets and one away game, than owning the 4 tickets.

They didn't even look at my negative Covid test when I gave it to them. They just saw the piece of paper, stamped my hand and let the 4 of us in. No one wore masks and the ones that did, wore them to keep their faces warm. It just goes to show that the mandates are all just for theatre. Pathetic in the worst way possible. Everywhere I went in Pullman over the weekend, the mask mandate was never enforced. Inslee is a fvcking joke and I hope all of his sh!tty azz decisions he has made over the past year come back to really bite him in the d!ck... (if he even has one because he certainly doesn't have any balls)

Recently in Denver, which is very blue and the state as a whole is west coast mafia junior, and a good chunk of the businesses are giving the mandate the bird. And I'm not talking about Mom and Pops; large national chains had employees not masked up. It feels like most of America is ready to live with the disease now.

Then he is a dipshit. No one wears masks at the games. No one enforces mask wearing at games. Its an outdoor event FFS.

Sadly this has been the case at pretty much every game this season, save for maybe Stanford.

I'm not even going to begin to go into my opinions on that. We are all tired of the COVID BS from all ends of the spectrum. Unfortunately, there are a lot of folks like my friend that has let the politics and theater impact how they go through life and they refuse to be involved because they don't want to even pay lip service to the agenda. I get that. It's all dumb.

Yup. We are all sick of it, but staying away from something doesn’t punish Inslee it punishes yourself. As far as I’m concerned Inslee wants empty venues so the best way to give him the bird is to show up. As many have mentioned, masks are optional anyways once you are through the gate.
