As you indicated by your title...this is an absolute rumor. What's missing is this is an absolute JOKE.

Crazy rumor? Seems hard to believe.

If true, it would be amusing to see these leftist elite schools have to lower themselves to joining the red state schools.

This is just wishful thinking on the B12. The Athletic did a review of TV ratings for each school. The highest rated school in the B12, Oklahoma State, would be 7th in the Pac 10/12 behind (in order) Oregon, Stanford, uw, WSU, CU and Utah. Yeah, it makes no sense for schools to leave the Pac 10/12 for a lesser conference, and have to travel long distances to do it.

What about BYU?
What would (the other) Cougars rate in the (new) B12 compared to the top 7 P12 teams?

Good question. But, the article only looked at teams that were in the conferences. BYU was not added to the B12 yet. So, they were not in the numbers in the article. Interestingly enough, WSU had higher ratings than UCLA.

The catch with those numbers is that Leach was a big driver of those numbers and he's no longer here. I'm hopeful that Cameron Ward is as advertised and we have a big season to dispel that thinking.

Do you have the data to back that up?

Sounds reasonable, but then again we have one of the biggest couch/ t-shirt/ bumper-sticker fanbases in the West, so maybe not.

If the Cougs are good, people will tune in. Leach put together 5 seasons where the Cougs were consistently good and we drew a nice ratings number.
