More Apple Cups.

Per GoHuskies:

"Next year's match-up will take place on September 14, 2024 at Lumen Field in Seattle, with the following four games alternating between the school's campuses: 2025 (Pullman), 2026 (Seattle), 2027 (Pullman) and 2028 (Seattle). Terms of the agreement are still being finalized."

I am more than forgiving when it comes to the higher-ups needing to make ends meet.

However... this epitomizes how important it is to have True Cougs as Athletic Directors and school Presidents.

In the words of Biggie...

"And if you don't know... now you know"

F*ck Fuw and we should have ZERO to do with them.

I'd rather play 5 away games at Oregon

You guys are out of your minds. It’s a 4 year home and home with one game in Lumen. It gives us a real schedule for at least the next 5 years. We need this more than they do.

This is great news at a time we needed it.
The reality is the budget needs it and it’s probably best to maintain games in all the other sports too.

Doesn’t mean anyone has to like it.

That mentality drives businesses to bankruptcy. Apple Cup is the single biggest financial game on our schedule. All of our alumni watch it. You don’t eliminate the game if UW is willing to continue a home and home.

We now have a schedule that likely includes UW, Oregon State, Boise St, Air Force, UNLV, SDSU, and Fresno State. That’s a Hell of a lot easier to digest during this transition period.

Wrong. We'd still get a zillion dollars going to Oregon. Oregon sells out because of Oregon. We'd still travel well down there too.

I knew you'd have a contrarian view. Lol.

Contrarian to who? This game is the single biggest event on our sports calendar. We can’t get super conference programs to Pullman. Students and local businesses love the idea of 2 more Pullman Apple Cups.

This was a no brainer agreement as soon as UW said yes to traveling to Pullman.
Not sure why I should care about local businesses gouging me during home games.

And if it's so damn important, Pullman PD could assign some officers for traffic duty to help people get through town after games.

Well, you are certainly a contrarain even if you don't believe this is a contrarian viewpoint.

I'm sure businesses in Pullman are thrilled with this prospect. I am not a fan of rewarding those who have contempt for me, though (referring to UW). Clearly, UW wants another win on their schedule each year and yes, we will get some money out of this.

I predict all of our alumni are not going to watch it. I’m alumni and I have zero interest in watching a body bag game against UW. Unless we somehow stay P5 this game will never be competitive. And I’m one that considers winning 30% of the time competitive

WSU admin is Charmin soft.

Those saying WSU needs this game or this is great for the university. It's not, WSU essentially says they have zero pride.

You can close other business deals to replace the game.

This is likely my final nail in the coffin.

Bunch of ****ing sell-outs.
As John Mellencamp once sang...
"Just cause it's your job ol' boy, sure don't make it right."

When and with who? We just signed a 5-year contract with the #4 team in the Nation that includes 2 Pullman games and 1 in a top NFL venue. Take UW's name out of this and replace it with Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, or Florida State. Do you say to no it? Would every other MWC say yes to it?

I’m interested to see what the arrangement in Lumen is. It better be 50/50 after expenses are reimbursed.

That’s what’s being reported.

Bigger question, who gets the media rights? Probably worth ~3M to us but who the hell knows with the fluid media market we are in.

It's also needed for Seattle area recruiting. There are 3 star, 3.5 star, and even a extremely rare lowest ended just barely a 4 star, that sometimes chooses WSU over UW.

And even if it's a 2.5 star recruit that UW not interested in, WSU can't take even 2.5 star recruits in Seattle for granted, as BSU, etc, will swoop in.

WSU has to play in Seattle occasionally, even more so now that they are semi independent and rebuilding a upper G5 PAC.

That said, don't have to like it, and don't like it.

At least we’ll get the chance to see up close and personal what $25m/yr nil can buy!

Imagine Our kids will play as inspired as tournament kids at an aau tournament with the mvp’s swept away at the end of the game to view their new nil “offer”

It is not needed for recruiting. We’re not going to out recruit anyone based on this series.
