More Idaho murder crap

Interesting how some family members of the murdered want to delay the demolishment until after the trial in case the physical house is somehow needed by the prosecutor. I can see their point. They want every card available in case it's needed.

They're 100% right. The defense's best play is to put the investigation on trial. The house is part of that, and if its gone....they can use that to create doubt. And they only need to convince one dimwitted juror.

yeah I can see that...sorta like the OJ defense strategy
They made a huge mistake trying to be cute with the glove. If he did it they will have DNA all over the place and it should be a slam dunk.

As per Loyals comment, hell no. Let him be someone’s bitch in prison, death is the easy way out.

Sorry this reminded me of Seinfeld

Nothing easy about life in prison, waking up each day knowing the day you are going to be executed. He's going to spend the rest of his life looking for a technicality to stay his execution, it will fail, and he'll realize he wasted what little time he had left.

Reality is that even if he’s sentenced to death, he probably has 20-30 years of life left. Unless he thinks he can become some kind of martyr and waive all appeals.

I’d be fine if he gets shanked next week. It’ll avoid the need for a trial.

I’d be fine with that too…there’s zero guarantee with a trial, the prosecution can always F it up. I sat on a jury where the prosecution presented a terrible case…holes everywhere. My gut told me the dude was guilty but they left a shitload of reasonable doubt, and some stuff came up that didn’t make any sense. That’s all it takes for a NG.

Well if that F-er goes free on some technicality hopefully the Dad of one of those girls will intercept him on a Montana highway and do justice. If it had been my sweet wonderful daughter he would be dead already. He F-ing did it and needs to die. The sooner the better.

Thank God he's not being tried in Washington. At least in Idaho there's the possibility of ending his worthless life.
I’m willing to temporarily relocate to Idaho just to be on the jury. I’m prepared to ensure that he receives a fair and speedy trial and a fair and speedy execution.

They had better fry that M-Fer. If I didn't want to stay alive for a while for my children, grandchildren, and future honeys I would love to break into that jail and shoot that M-Fer in the head. A few times. How the F do you knife 3 pretty young girls to death?

Unlike OJ, who the public liked and wanted to see as innocent, Kohberger is "toast." No one is thinking that guy is innocent, even if he alleged had an accomplice.

Everyone knows the story. Everyone was anxious about this case. Everyone wants to see justice.

Koherger should take a plea deal, wait in prison for about 10 years, about try and appeal his conviction on some sort of basis and plea for a new trial. (IE he was forced into a plea deal). I don't see anyone letting this guy off the hook.

I don’t think the public wanted to see OJ as innocent. Pretty sure most believe he was guilty as hell.

Shoot that mother f-er who is a stain on WSU. This 20+ years of death row BS just pisses me off. As does states (including Washington) who banned it. I get that there have been cases where DNA or other evidence cleared death row inmates. Good. But when the evidence is conclusive, F-ing kill them. Other countries don't F around. Convicted, you die pretty quick.

So if I read this right, he's going to provide evidence of where he was just as soon as he figures out where he was.

I'm curious how he'll explain how he was somewhere else and his phone was speeding south of Moscow just after the murders...and back at the scene by 9AM.

It was the same person that planted his DNA.

His attorneys have got to be saying "Are you nuts?"
But psychopaths like him are also usually pretty arrogant and think they're smarter than anyone else.

Desperate move bc he has nothing else. Probably a stall tactic to try to get a better deal then he’s already been offered which I would guess is something like - do you prefer the firing squad or lethal injection. I’ve heard pretty reliable rumors they have a lot more on him turns bern released. He’s toast and I’d be happy to run the toaster.

wow....must have been asleep for several months because I thought the trial hadn't happened yet let alone a guilty verdict and here he is already on death row .....time flies....

There have been lots of motions being filed that haven't gotten much press. According to press in the courtroom today, Bryan Kohberger is moving to waive his speedy trial rights.

This means that the trial WON'T happen in October. i'm sure local media will have this information soon.

BREAKING: Kohberger’s trial, scheduled for Oct. 2, has been vacated. Kohberger waived his right to a speedy trial. They will schedule a trial after the Sep. 1 hearing.

WTF? What does anyone need to know that hasn't been found/vetted? This is what kills me about our judicial system. Oh let's set the trial date 6 months or a year from now. Why?
Life isn't Law and Order. Takes time to line up experts and get results back from forensic experts. The system is stronger when defendants get to make their best defense.

We need defendants to get a fair defense, but when the timing of a trial is impacted by silly games that have nothing to do with preparing their defense.....it's a failure of the system.

Counterpoint. If the prosecution already has their case laid out (ie has results back from forensic experts) and you want to delay it and sit in jail, maybe you don’t have much of a defense.

Exactly. Innocent people don’t sit in jail for 9 months when they have a way to get out.

Kohberger is assumed innocent until proven guilty. This is a death penalty case which means both sides have to make sure they do everything correctly. The guy's life is literally on the line.

The prosecution has to make sure they follow the letter of the law exactly, because you know if K is found guilty there will be appeals filed by the defense and heaven forbid the verdict be overturned because of a technicality.

As much as everyone here was hoping for a swift trial we knew this was coming.
