Anyone disagree?

We will be fortunate to win.

Of course, it helps to hit a shot now and then.

Feels like a road game. I haven't had a problem with many calls on us, but they have let some contact and body on shots go for NMSU.

Too close for comfort right now.

A 5 second call to end the game.

These guys seem to have the skills but lack something between the ears to get over the hump.

just a bad look overall for this team.

It reminds me of watching the trailblazers on offense the past 5 years, just a bunch of isolation ball.

We've faced some good teams, and NM is no slouch, but they have to start winning some of those games.

No energy, no fire. This team is lazy. Watch Gueye, dude had no interest, 1 rebound, no blocks.

I miss Bonton

We just haven't come together yet. Noah isn't right. We don't have a true point guard. Our bigs are all raw. We need games like this. Yea, it would obviously be nice to win them, but we'll grow from them.

I'm not worried. I think our best basketball is still in front of us. This has been a sneaky tough stretch of games. A couple of fundamentally sound teams back to back.

Outhustled, outcoached, out-everything. This is one of the lowest IQ teams we've had in awhile, too. Noah's hero ball isn't working out too well, either.

Glad Cougar

yeah, can't wait to peak for the CBI...

Enough talent no leadership on the court. We’ve seen it before in football. Flexing when you finally make a couple of shots doesn’t do it. Nobody on this team is lifting up their teammates. A bunch of individuals and that doesn’t produce consistent winning basketball.

what a bummer, I was really excited for this team

Might be the worse final 60 seconds of a close game I have seen in a long time. Couldn't get the ball inbound for a 5 second call. Seemed a quick 5 but Flowers didn't seem to have anyone he was going to. Noah with a flip shot with english and a 3 that had no chance to go 1-6 for the game.

What bothers me the most is this looked like a team that was having fun last year. This year it's just slogging through the second half. We might be heavy in the portal this year.

Maybe so. Progress isn't always linear. We're not there yet, but we've played a pretty tough stretch of games too. USC is a good team. Weber is tough program. SDSU and NMSU will challenge for NCAA bids.

We play well in stretches, but we're raw and inexperienced at key positions. Noah won't continue playing this poorly.

Too many players for 1 ball? I thought that may be an issue.

More like nobody emerging as reliable offensive contributors. Flowers is solid. Noah will get it turned around. Bamba has potential, but he needs to polish his offensive game and work on the free throws. Apart from that, nobody else can be counted on for anything other than occasional 3's. Somebody needs to develop a midrange game. We either shoot the 3 or drive wildly to the bucket. I'd love to see Jak, Bamba, Noah, or Rodman pull up and take some free throw line extended jumpers. They're always open.

LOL dude we are playing shit teams from shit leagues. And losing to them. Eastern is absolute trash, losing to them was the warning sign we all ignored.

With all due respect our players and coaches, who TF are we? Outside of some optimists within our program, we're a team that was picked to finish 8th in the P12.

Trash programs? Weber State, NMSU, SDSU, USC. If they're trash, what is WSU? Have you followed our program over the past 5, 10, 20, 40 years? Outside of a few small windows, we're a 12-24 program that struggles to attract 3K fans to our home games.

This has been a tough month, but Smith has the program headed in the right direction. We have the size and defensive ability, but we lack guard play and scoring reliability. If Flowers had a dependable offensive backcourt partner, this team would be night and day better. Our bigs (and Noah) are going to play better.

Oh, our program absolutely is trash and has been forever. But this particular team should be good enough to beat the champions and dregs of the FCS leagues.

Fans on this board are going off the fact that this, on paper, is the most talented group of players that have ever stepped foot on campus. Notice I didn't say team - group of players.

Whoever thinks that is ridiculous. Klay and Baynes are solid, multi-year NBA players. Kyle Weaver was an NBA almost and high level pro. Rochestie was an elite Euro player.

Our team right now has size and some promise, but nobody on our current roster can hold a candle to the guys I just mentioned. Not yet.

I don't agree with that. Weber, NMSU, SDSU, and Winthrop can hold their own with 8 teams in the P12. Eastern lost by 3 at Colorado. Regarding the Eastern game, we played them without Noah and Bambo, two of our top-3 players.

SDSU got smoked by Idaho. They are trash.

The problem is the crazy over hyping of this team and players. We were picked 8th in the PAC 12 and everybody flipped out but that’s not looking like such a bad prediction now. We go crazy about NBA draftees and how great this or that player is because we see a video of them dunking or shooting a bunch of 3s. We do not have a team loaded with potential NBA players or future first round picks no matter what the rose colored glasses crowed thinks.
We talk about players reading their own press clippings, well fans are the same way. You get a couple guys babbling on and on about how amazing this player is but they don’t watch games just highlight videos. Next thing you know others start buying into the hype and player and team expectations skyrocket.

That's how I feel too, and it's why I'm not freaking out. Smith has done a great job building back the program. We have a lot of quality depth, but we're lacking a couple of impact pieces; specifically a true point guard and a scoring wing.

While we likely won't achieve the heights that many on here had predicted, all is not lost. Noah is going to snap out of his funk. He needs to work on his shot mechanics if he wants to play at the next level, but he's going to step up and break out this season. Gueye is just too young to be counted on this season, but he is as advertised. He's eventually going to develop into a player who consistently knocks down midrange jumpers, and he has the length where teams will have no choice but to give him that shot. Flowers is also a really nice player. He doesn't have any backcourt help, which is killing his true potential, but I suspect we'll address that. Roberts is solid, but he's too small to be a 30 minute player. Bamba will also settle into a nice player once his shot gets a bit more consistent. He's really close to becoming a top notch penetrator.

You don't get a 17+ point leads by being a bad team. Not holding those leads and losing makes you look bad. Is the sound on my TV off or has there not been much of a crowd for any home games.

I think the leadership on the team is not real strong. Flowers needs to step up and lead the team. He is the most natural to do that but may be yielding too much to Noah. I understand that as he new this year.

Flowers is our best shooter and should have the ball at the end of a tight game when we are trailing. He should take that last shot or at least dribble into the lane and dish.

We have some good pieces but not enough floor leadership.
