Just a quick update on our incoming JC transfer. He had 24 pts and 19 rebs the other night and his team has won 19 straight.

Someone posted some more recent highlights of Cluff on brandx. Seemed maybe a bit slimmer? Competition was pretty low, but thought he moved ok and seem to have good wingspan plus some touch and mid-range potential. If he has the typical Aussie toughness, then a good player to hedge against being without an inside presence.

IMO Cluff still seems like a backup plan if Jackson isn't available next year, Diongue isn't ready for starter minutes, and the assumption that Gueye is also gone. It also allows them to give Gueye a guarantee he won't be a "5" next year if he were to come back.

I would be really shocked if Cluff was a starter but as we have seen this year plan B and even plan C can be important at times during the season.

I'm expecting somewhere between Matt DeWolf and Jeff Pollard? Is that then Brandon Chatfield? DeWolf was just a spot guy (and walkon), so obviously hoping it's closer to Pollard.

I guess if you think about it, Pollard wouldn't have projected to start (or get more minutes) than Jackson, Gueye, or likely Jakimovski this season. The way things worked out, we sure could have used a Pollard this year.

Yeah they also have walk-on AJ Labeau from Boise 7' and 220 lbs. The new Nigerian is evidently a PF.

IMO Gueye is gone to the league, I would be surprised if he comes back.

Gueye's shown enough to go somewhere in the league be it draft or G-League. Would love to see him back. He still has a lot to work on including "what's his position?", but I have never thought we would see him for 3 years. I think he's missed Jackson as much as anyone on the roster.

Diongue has progressed a bit this year especially when he sticks to the basics of rebound, dunk, defend, impact shots. Chinyelu will probably need to do the same next year.

What league? Not the NBA. There's no way he'll get drafted.
I'm not so sure about that. He's had 11 double-doubles this year and in 4 of the last 5 games. I can't remember a Cougar with that kind of a stat. He has things to work on for sure....and I'd love to have him back. But there certainly is possible, if not likely, that he'll get drafted, IMO.

Hawkinson averaged a double double for three straight years but didn’t check near as many boxes as Gueye. Gueye definitely passes the he eye test for the NBA especially if your drafting on potential which is pretty much the case where he is projected to go. I personally don’t think he will play much if any NBA ball but it’s amazing just to be mentioned or get sniff in the league.

Josh Hawkinson was the king of the double double but Mos game and potential translates to the next level a lot more. I think someone might draft him in round 2 and try to develop him but that’s not a lock.

Ah, yes. Don't know why I forgot about Hawkinson. Probably because I've tried to block out the Ernie Kent years. Thanks for reminding me.

Glad Cougar
