OT: Geno's going to the Raiders!

I thought that was the plan with a tomato can QB. But why not bring in a big, immobile guy and take another salary cap hit you'll have to deal with in two years.

At least the excuse for losing/ sucking is built in.
Do you even watch football...or espn? This is widely regarded as a deep draft but not top heavy.

The seahawks went from the bottom.3 salary-cap wise to top 4 with their latest moves. They still have lots of cap space and now several draft picks in this deep draft.

Minshew is no better than a backup. And Darnell is quite mobile. Probs moreso than geno was. Now you are caught up. Taihtsat

Of the past 62 starting Super Bowl QB’s, 39 were age 28 or older. 23 were age 27 or younger.

Darnold deal is looking better all the time.

Just what I was thinking, just hadn't gotten around to posting about it. Just didn't see him pulling in the value of a 1st round pick.

Speaking of value, how come one poster here says that this year's draft if strong/deep and another poster says that this year's draft is a crapshoot and it is next year's draft that will be great? I haven't seen any analysis either way yet.
Most of what I’ve seen is calling this a pretty decent draft for depth, without a lot of star power. Not many players that jump off the page, but a lot who could contribute.

Also Seahawks can get either a OL or Edge or LB in 1st round.

Then a WR in 2nd round, then a OL in 3rd round if Edge or LB in 1st round. If OL in 1st round, then Edge, LB in 2nd round, and WR probably Kyle Williams in 3rd round. If take OL in 1st round, WR in 2nd round, then Edge, LB in 3rd round.

Then hopefully Kyle Williams WR falls to Seahawks in 4th round.

Then in 5th round take a sleeper, flyer WR.

Then in 6th round take a sleeper, flyer QB.

Assuming hawks do this, the rebuild will be complete, and hawks will have plenty cap room, 3,4,5,6 year window to goto playoffs, superbowl.

Darnold will be alright because 1. The offense will be a balanced offense. 2. Darnold is mobile, can keep defense honest via QB runs, option runs, RPO, spread, etc.
3. WSU has decent RB's, and will have good OL thru either draft or free agency.
4. Darnold will be able to throw to 3 good, cheap WR's from either, both Draft, Free Agency. Kyle Williams WR is extremely underrated.

Hawks would have to F up Draft and Free Agency pretty bad to F up, mess this all up pretty bad and end up with Darnold sucking, and Hawks sucking(only winning 3,4,5 games), as thats how good, deep this draft is.

Hawks probably going to win 7,8,9,10 games, just barely get playoff wild card by skin of their teeth this coming season.

Then Hawks get their franchise QB(Arch Manning)(hopefully) in 2nd round next season, and have him learn behind Darnold.

Hawks win 11 games.

Next season Hawks win 12 games, almost make superbowl.

Next Season Hawks win 12, goto Superbowl, but lose.

Next season Hawks win 13, goto Superbowl and win.

Next Season Hawks win 14, goto Superbowl win.

Next season Hawks win 11,12, goto playoffs, no superbowl.

Next season Hawks win 9, 10, either barely make playoffs or miss playoffs, have to rebuild again. After 8 year window over, and have to replace either Darnold, or too expensive Franchise QB Manning.

Do you see any scenario Geno was going to get 2 more years from Seattle? I don’t. On the other hand, he’s likely to play 2-3 years for Pete while he builds the Raiders out.
I saw a report saying Hawks were good with his money, but he came back and demanded to be traded. Interesting developments.
