I don’t see posters defending Schulz - just people with a likely more realistic perspective that aren’t getting hysterical. WSU had a shit hand to begin with and little to no leverage. And some of you expected Schultz to pull a Houdini. Lol. No; laugh out effing loud.

When things go south not everyone loses their shit, makes lots of wild assumptions without knowing the whole story, and has to find someone to blame and then crucify them.

Examples of Schulz defense abound. I believe you're both missing my point and mischaracterizing it in a passive aggressive manner.

My perspective isn't "yeah, I could have gotten WSU in another P5 two years ago, wisely anticipating this shitshow and its timing perfectly, and so could have Schulz if he wasn't an ineffective tubby beta male." It's that all available evidence, including both reported facts and everything we know about his nature and manner of addressing other matters, suggests he didn't do any of the things that could have had at least some reasonable chance of stopping this disaster, and examination -- and, most likely, implementation -- of those steps was warranted to stop this disaster, because that's what this is.

That's it. Not that it would have been simple, easy, or necessarily could have been pulled off, especially by someone with his limitations. If that's losing my shit, so be it. This is a disaster.

The loser cougs arent smart enough to understand this. They are determined to keep WSU down with their hands up and shoulder shrugs.

WSU is better off without them.
Seriously. With where things have gone... f*ck all of them. I have nothing, but disgust for all the previous Pac-12 members.

Especially fuw... whoregon... and fusc

They have businessmen in place to make business decisions. WSU does not. They are laughing at Schulz and Chun.

Yes and no... I truly believe we just had poor ones. Not thinking about how evil the world can be. Dumb to not be planning for this for the last 10-15 years when it was pretty obvious that the money and the power in NCAA football became the actual control.

Not excusing them for a minute... but we are stupid for not expecting assholes to be assholes.

Can anyone on here actually tell me they think the fuskies are anything, but dog shit when it comes to character? THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY!

I mean it. F*ck em' and now we as WSU, Oregon State, Colorado State, UNLV, etc... start our own conference. Get out of D1 and start the NEW College Division where all the schools can give the middle finger to Title 9 and have the sports be like a business. Make smarter schedules... traveling... academic requirements...

Let the NCAA bend themselves over.

How much viewership / TV money would really be lost if we rounded up all of the other NCAA D1 rejects and we made our own? Call it the Super Universities & Colleges - A Real Conference/Organization Champions?

We will see what it looks like once Disney is done with realignment. I have a hunch we are gonna see college football turn into the NFL model. Where do Arizona, Arizona State, Purdue, Indiana, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Vandy, Boston College, etc all land? They aren’t gonna make the blue blood cut. We could see cuts made again soon.

Floyd’s secret wasn’t selling the need for a medical school to the state - the need was there and well known for many years. His talent was in attracting the right people to do the job and having the ability and energy to make it happen from an organizational sense.

Elson Floyd tirelessly lobbied the state legislature and PERSUADED them to successfully change the law which gave the UW a monopoly over in-state medical schools. He overcame strong resistance from UW supporters. He did that without what most people would consider to be a lot of LEVERAGE, which was my main point.

The blue bloods need teams to beat. They’ll need to keep some of those around.

I don't necessarily disagree. I am curious to see how it shakes out. Two leagues of 20 teams each shakes out a lot of those teams. If the $$$ is in tv viewership, some of these blue bloods are gonna have to win some tough games. People won’t tune in for Missouri vs Ohio State. The people paying for ads want big games and a lot of eyes. They are gonna get it.

If they don’t keep them in conference, they’ll engineer some sort of scheduling arrangement with a weaker conference. If they force the big teams to play each other all the time, those matchups will start to lose their luster. Especially if they’ve both got 3 losses already. What they really want are marquee matchups between teams that still have a shot.

Agree. But if the shot isn’t there, Ohio State vs Auburn still has more value. It’s big brand vs big brand = big dollars.

Yup. This is the first experiment with superconferences, and in a couple years it’ll get shaken up again. The networks - when they got the idea for these - failed to realize that along with the matchups of Michigan-USC and Ohio state-auburn, they’re also going to get Indiana-Illinois and Purdue-Mississippi State. They’re going to want to remedy that.

Perversely, if all goes how the networks want it, in the future the undefeated teams probably aren’t really going to be the best ones. The best teams are going to beat each other up all season and all end up with a couple of losses.

It’ll be just like the NFL. No one is undefeated. Just get to the playoff.

Looks like it may be a while before OSU and WSU know which direction they will take.

Pac2 Financial clarity being sought
This is critical if it is 0 or 200 million, makes a huge difference, don't understand why there can't be some type of estimate. They have to have financial statements, why is this so difficult to compute. If it's 100 million or more it buys both schools sometime, if it's 200 million or more it buys a year or two.

Then he died from colon cancer soon after. RIP

Maybe if that loser Shultz hadn't skipped his Zig Ziglar seminars or failed to read “The Secret” we wouldn’t be in this mess.

Better yet WSU needs to hire Joel Osteen as President and Tony Robbins as AD.

Even better someone needs to rescue Biggs from a life of knocking on trucker cabs at 2:00AM in the Biggs Junction Pilot Travel Center parking lot and get the one true Coug installed as WSU AD right freaking now.

And if you believe Moos’ bullshit story god help you. Moos was great at selling his own myth and nothing more.
He hired Leach. He got the stadium upgraded. To me, that was a lot.
