I’m just up the road 15 miles in the thriving metropolis of Hamilton. If you fly fish and want to try some new water, I’m happy to float you down the West Fork or Bitterroot while you’re out here. Just let me know.
Yes please! I took my daughter on a dude ranch/horse trip to wolf creek in Oct and was salivating at the rivers we passed on the way. I will take you up on this offer, tell me when - beers, steaks, cougar gold, anything else on me!

Nice. I spend quite a bit of the summer on the Lochsa and make it over to Lolo from time to time. Gorgeous drive down the river.

Nice. Let’s figure it out.

I’m a freeloader on the board so can’t PM folks. If you can PM, hit me up. If not, I’ll get M-I Coug to send you my phone number.

We can get something going for when the river warms a bit. Was mostly ice a few days ago. It’s all nymphing right now anyway. The Skwalas will come off end of March, but ideally we should plan for when the river is dropping after the runoff. To the extent that you can plan for Mother Nature that is.

The Wire is hands down the best show I’ve seen. And it is a slow burn. But when the fuse gets to the end, it’s all fireworks. Great stuff and a must watch.
Watched the first season and part of the second and had to give up. Just looks way too... dated now, and slow to boot. With the amount of content out there now, I can't invest in another 3-4 seasons to get to the payoff. To be fair, my favorite show is Breaking Bad and everyone who started watching 10+ years after it began says the same thing about it that I say about The Wire.

Back on topic, the Dawgs are national champs. Here's to the beginning of a Clemson-type run or, God willing, an Alabama-type run. Everyone is talking about how Stetson "redeemed" himself. Uh, no. I root for him as a feelgood story, but nobody is worse under pressure. For every 5 beautiful passes, there are 20 early throws, late throws, in front, behind, short, high, picks, pick sixes and fumbles. The absolute gold standard of SEC QBs who play behind a Top 3 OL and crush it - until they run into worthy opposition, at which point they fold like a cheap suit. See: the NFL

Watching Bennett, he looked like the kind of QB LSU or Bama would trot out there when the championship games would be 9-6 a decade or so ago. Greg McElroy or someone like that. Those guys could throw the occasional underthrown 45-yard ball as well and put up some decent numbers with superior talent. If Georgia can keep the kind of defensive identity and personnel it has, and evolve and strengthen on offense, I think a Clemson-esque run might be in the cards.

1883 is solid for sure. Pissed I missed the last episode....sure seems it was a very short first season.
I really hate the way everybody has a different subscription TV channel now. All the money I spend on TV packages, none of them have Paramount or Peacock. Promos for 1883 had me wanting to watch, and the buzz has been great. But I don't have access...and the free versions of Ep. 1 that somebody put on YouTube are basically unwatchable.

The real version, distributed by Paramount+ is free. Or at least it was. I watched the full episode on there. Which of course convinced me to signup for Paramount+ (besides the Star Trek stuff--yes, I love WSU Football and Star Trek and Heavy Metal Music).

I wish they would just charge you 2 bucks an hour (or something like that) and distribute the $ to whoever owned the rights to what you were watching. Or have an all you can eat option that I get to watch whatever the hell I want for X per month. Really pisses me off when I get nickeled and dimed for 87 different services.

Yeah. It's vintage Alabama before they reformed their offense. My point - which I know P12 people will agree with - is that the SEC formula of elite fronts and elite talent can mask a total lack of skill and creativity in the passing game. Growing up, it was always so strange to hear that the SEC had landed yet another 5* QB who was a world-beater in HS, then you would just watch the most pathetic, unimaginative play action football (executed poorly most of the time) that still won hardware. Then they would get to the NFL and flop, because they basically never had to develop in a climate of parity or creativity.
