Religious exemptiom

He fills it out correctly he’ll probably get it an exemption. I know somebody that for one. Will Wazzu accommodate him?

Best part of the weekend is Monday . This story will be put to bed, and we won’t be talking about vaccination and his vax status .

1) he gets an exemption and Ad and Pres sign off on it and he coaches the rest of the year. Future to be determined .

2) He agrees to get vaxed and asks for a week extension to prove that he is vaxed. This was a feeling John Canzano from Portland paper thought would be a resolution for both parties .

3) Monday comes around and we have an interim coach .

But it is something that is coming to a head . Ryan Leaf was on KJR and he was someone who lobbied for rolo when leach left. He feels it is a done deal and felt Schultz already made up his mind.

Rolo puts both Inslee and Schultz in a corner. We will see how much inslee has at stake and if he blinks . Schultz too….

What is a "fine deal?" Genuinely not understanding what you're trying to convey.

Leaf said UW would finish 12-0 in 2021.

Also wrote in October 2010 that Wulff deserved a 4th year.

At some pt that broken clock might be correct.
So maybe you would like to offer an opinion . And I will try to remember it 24 hours vs the 12 years you seem to hold on to opinions . He offers an opinion . He could be incorrect . That would make two of us as I don’t think Rolo will be around for the BYU game.

WSU ex-players and coaches often make predictions based on their personal wishes or what may benefit them in mid-term.

No idea what happens for BYU.

Doubtful Rolo gets an extension however (by Year 3 that is the goal) by current mgmt. If you work your way back from there, they may be amenable to a possible change at the end of year.

This COVID vax mandate madness may not be looked fondly upon in the future.

Only problem with your answer Leaf was the Jim. Walden of hhe hire . He endorsed Rolo .

I think leaf if probably correct, and if he is we will have an interim coach on Monday whether the exception is granted or not

It’s not really wether it is granted, it is more about if he can be accommodated to do his job well. There are dozens of arguments he can’t even with the exemption. Recruiting is an excellent example that can be argued he cannot do his job to the full capacity required.

Now he did throw out a name of an interim coach other than Dickert. I think part of the reason is Stutzman isn’t vaxed and Brian Smith is rolos best friend. So they will be short on coaches on that side of the ball. June’ Jones.

I would imagine that the relationship between Turd and JJ is frosty. Would be interesting to see how loyalties play out if JJ stepped into the program.

It is clear who Turd is loyal to. Himself only.

June Jones & SMU lost to Wulff and Wulff's least talented team in 2009.

One of the worst late game meltdowns of any visiting team. You'll love the guy.

But he also beat a very good TCU in his tenure at SMU. That is like saying Leach is horrible because he lost to a defense led by a coach who coached one of those least talented Wulff teams and went on to coach at Portland State.

Roberson was still coaching for WSU in this game.

The 2009 team was talentless, a fact that was known when they pulled the trigger on Doba's firetirement the day after his 2007 Apple Cup win.

If you are suggesting that Wulff be interviewed for the interim job, he has a bye this week.

Whether or not he'll be fired outright or not is still unclear, but I think it's safe to say that there is going to be a rubber meets road conversation between Rolo, Chun, and Schulz. Something along the lines of, "look, we've reached the point where we need to act on this. If you aren't going to get vaccinated, WSU needs to move in another direction. We'll give you 24-48 hours to discuss it one final time with your wife and family, but we need a decision on this. Either become vaccinated or we'll have to terminate your contract."

Contrary to what some people have said, I don't think that Rolo has "burned a bridge" or "pissed off" Chun and Schulz. I think he's frustrated the Hell out them with this, but they also know Rolo outside of the vaccine stuff, and from all accounts, he's a genuinely good person. A great reputation as a husband, Father, players coach, respectful, etc. I'm sure this has been an extremely difficult time for Chun and Schulz; especially now that the team is performing better.

My company is facing similar decisions. We've shuffled the deck and tried to hide the number of employees we have in order to delay the inevitable, but D-Day is approaching. We don't want to fire anyone due to vax status, but the company comes before the individual.

I’m sure this conversation has already been had, whether an exemption is granted or not. The outcome has been determined

Something I hadn't contemplated before.....and the SWA 'sick out' brought this to the fore.

What if the team said "We stand by our coach" and refused to play?

Discuss.

I know Roberson was coaching . Not sure your point . I simply point out you are stuck in 2008-11you bring up stuff to relive it . The greater point is one game doesn’t define June Jones or Mike Leach, who did get beat by a Roberson led defense. Paul wulff is long gone, and only time he is even thought of is when you bring it up.

If we lose three offensive coaches it does make sense that someone with Jones knowledge of the offense step in for the final 5 games and then they move on to another coach .

Then they don’t play .

My high school coach was fired my senior year two games into the season. We planned on doing the same thing, protest on behalf of our coach. My dad said I represent the school, not the coach and while I lived in his house I would not be part of the protest . And he was correct.

Someone had to deliver that H2O

The question wasn't whether or not the players played. It was worded specifically for the response of the AD/President in that scenario.

It's 2021 not 1978. Protests are cool again.

My father believed in protests in 1978. He saw the school larger than the person. What do you think the school would say? If I was the president and AD, I would talk to each member and strongly suggest it is in everyone's best interest to play. And leave it at that. And if they don't, well then they don't.

Mike Leach is a good person. Most would say Bobby Knight is a good person. But going against their wishes, not telling them about media day, embarrassing the school as he did with probably 60% of the people, not sure how he didn't burn the bridge. Maybe Schultz does something different, but read the NY Times...I think it is pretty clear they aren't on the same page.

Do we know what year it was? Or what school?
.
Pretty hard to get fired 2 games in if it was 1978. Maybe recruiting at O'Dea was lagging?

Why wouldn't protests be "cool" if they are for a just cause...the problems with protests is there will be a group that comes in and ruins the cause by being violent. And it only takes one person to take away from the message.

How much money does he want? If they can Rolo mid season, then I assume they just promote Dickert and elevate some guys already on staff to position coaches. No need to throw more money at this season at that point, unless you’re wanting Jones to stick around.

Perhaps something is lost in the nuance of language.

Hypothetically what happens WHEN the players say "We support our coach. We're not playing"?

Then what is Chun's/Schulz response?

That is a potential scenario. Not saying it is a high probability but it's possible.

Who will call plays? You are short bodies....you are short people who know this offense.

I am sure they would speak with them. Encourage them along with people like Leaf and Jack Thompson. Then I would imagine they would call their bluff and if they don't play then reassess their scholarships.

I don’t believe anything printed in the New York Times. They sent a crew to Pullman to report on one narrative. That’s how they roll.

Maybe that is the best shot of making a bowl game and the math works?

I dunno...but I do think the way we are playing we have a good shit of going bowling.

I also like the idea of going after Petersen. I said when Leach was coach that if he ever left I think Pullman would be the perfect spot for coach Pete to end up.

Don't you mean how the NYT consistently takes direct quotes out of context? Or better yet, doesn't include the entire text of the quote? To quote your favorite president, "C'Mon Man!"
Biden is my favorite President? Between you and How did that Happen" you sure come up with a bunch of generalizations that certainly don't apply to me. Is that cause you don't have anything of substance to add?

I am game...please translate this slanted "quote". Maybe I have a slanted perspective, but tell me how I should read or have read this...

“It certainly skews the perception of our message,” Schulz said in an interview on Friday. “At most universities, people pay attention to what the university president, the football coach, the basketball coach and the athletic director have to say — that’s just the reality. People look at them for leadership because they’re highly visible and highly compensated. It doesn’t help when you have people who are contrary to the direction we’re going.”

You're more of a Millard Fillmore or James Buchanon guy.

Millard Fillmore ran for President for the Know Nothing Party.
