Rutgers, kinda early

Rutgers!!!!!!! Been looking forward to this game for a few years now,if the Cougs can beat Rutgers this year I will be 1 happy camper!!

Well, 4 RU players were arrested, and 3 of them played safety or cornerback (Boggs, Stephenson and Peele) . That's going to hurt us a bit.

Over $900 bucks and some Mary Jane… Crazy.

EDIT: And this was from April!? Boy, Flood knew this was coming, too. Betcha he saw the wheels starting to fall off about a month or 2 ago… Hence him working so hard, as to contact a professor when he knew he shouldn't have…

This must have been why the police and AD were at practice this morning… daaaaaang.

I am not one to gloat or start trouble. Did not watch the Wazzu game yesterday. Was it a WTF game, or is there a more fundamental problem?

Sometimes these 1st games that seem like a slam dunk blow up. Remember, Ohio State lost last year early in the season to Virginia Tech, and they won it all. Not saying you guys will win it all, but shit happens early on that can get cleaned up.

We rolled, but our secondary looked very very vulnerable early on. We have a QB competition on our hands. Our RBs appear to be studs, if yesterday is an indication. Carroo needs to be quadruple covered.

Hoping we have a shootout like last year.

I don't think anyone knows at this point. There were a lot factors at work.

1. The weather - It was a miserable game day experience. About a quarter inch of rain was reported, but everyone I talked to said it was a lot more than that.

2. Is our defense terrible or was it a good QB they faced that could run? They held them to 60 yards the first half. Then the second we get run over. Was it because he was good or we were bad.

3. We have no idea what is going on. Everyone including the players has said that this is the worst they have performed all year and never had a practice this bad. Is this a fluke or is it more to come.

4. Lots of players an even Leach said their were communication issues. Was this because of Falk? The weather? Nerves? Who knows.

If run defense is the problem, you guys have to clean that up quickly. As you guys know, we have a formidable group of RBs, and Rettig has legs (nice surprise), and Laviano showed legs last year.

If I am Rutgers coaches, our plan is to control the clock and run it down Wazzu's throat and not get in a shootout.

Wazzu needs to expose Rutgers secondary. Wazzu need the big men up front can keep Rutgers DL out of the QBs face.

Oh, and the forecast calls for rain. . . . .

We just need to get it together.

It really depends on how mobile your QB is. Is he 4.47 mobile? because that's what we faced.

Who knows about our rush defense. 1st half we allowed 60 yards total...2nd half we got run over.

As noted, sometimes stuff just happens. Penn State yesterday was doing fine until the second half and Temple scored 27 unanswered points. They don't call them WTF losses for nothing. Rutgers has has plenty in their history. I still expect a good game between RU and Wazzu.

For anyone taking the trip, enjoy it. NYC is worth going to, but if any of you folks like the beach, I highly recommend a trip down to Asbury Park NJ. Lots of great restaurants and bars and music scene on the boardwalk along the beach. Stay on the boardwalk area and Cookman Ave, and you will have a fantastic time.

Trust us when we understand the implications of your running game and TOP is not in our favor. Ironically, the weather in Newark is going to be 84 next Saturday with a chance of .02 " of rain. Sounds like heaven...especially to anyone making the trip.

Too early to predict the weather. NJ weather in September can change pretty quickly. We may get some tropical storm action towards the end of the week, which could mean showers during the game. Too soon to tell. Just hope it rains and Wazzu has issues in the rain.

Well the first lesson you need to learn is if you hope anything at WSU you will be disappointed. So if you hope for it to rain and for us to struggle. It will be sunny and we'll kick your butt. it's like that costanza episode of seinfield where george does the opposite and everything magically goes his way.

That's the first time I have ever heard Newark and Heaven commingled in the same sentence. Lol

Newark is about 20-30 miles north of where our stadium is, Piscataway, NJ. There is a a Rutgers campus in Newark, but it is not part of the main campus system in New Brunswick and Piscataway.

Give me a little credit because it's pretty close. I'm sure there won't be hurricanes in Piscataway, but 84 and partly cloudy in Newark. Besides, the possibilities of a hurricane are about as good as another George Washington Bridge scandal. If your Governor wants to get elected again...he'd better call off any possible hurricane. Oh, his Chris Farley imitation is f'n hilarious. http://gawker.com/chris-christie-thinks-your-government-spying-fears-are-1705303862 That motivational speaker will never let a hurricane happen in his state......again.

Jersey kids give up when the going gets tough. WSU scores 4 unanswered touchdowns, Rutgers finger pointing starts. WSU runs it out to 55-0.
Tell that to Don Bosco Prep HS who dominate Cali,Fla,Ala,Ohio and Texas schools regularly on the road.NJ is known for tough hardnosed kids.We look at west coast kids as 'soft'.

Hey Cougar fans. We named our starting QB. It is Laviano. Much of our board is having a melt down because they think Rettig was the better choice. Who will be the starting QB for Wazzu?

Don't know yet. Falk was injured at the end of the game..he was limited in practice. I think Bender may get the start at a precaution.

Caroo may be the one to watch after the running game tries to wear down the defense. 3 touches, 3 touchdowns in less than one half of action... He's the real thing - radio commentator thought he was running at 600 mph after a catch....

Not really worried who the qb is. Really to beat us you only need to do one of a few things... interception in the second half, punt and have us muff it, or block a kick. or have a decent RB. This will spiral and destroy our coverslip fragile psyche, and you can coast to a satisfying win.

Ahh what great memories lol, no offense to your team..but the kid that got stiff armed and the kid that got beat deep for the TD are both garbage players, as well as the many attempted tacklers. Lucky for you guys some of them will be on the field this year!

"never had a practice that bad" maybe they were looking at PSU as a practice game
ended up overlooking them.
