"One of the most intense coaches I've ever met. Very high standards. I didn't play linebacker and honestly seeing that position group in practice I'm glad I didn't. He lives and breathes football. You would not believe the energy he would bring at 5am on a morning spring ball practice. He's very aggressive with play calling. When he took over as DC in 2019 I was told he ran more blitzes against Minnesota than we had ran the whole previous season combined (I don't think the stat was exaggerated either). Contrary to what I've been reading he does have a good personality and players like him. He will be able to recruit."
Obviously we will see if it translates to WSU, but at the minimum, I am hoping WSU can play some fundamental football and not get out-coached. I think recruiting will be a question mark still...especially if the entire staff is coming.
South Dakota State has a small but dedicated fanbase. I visited their fan board to see what their reaction was to Rogers leaving for WSU. There were over 80 posts on the topic, and all of them were highly complementary towards him. That surprised me. Usually 1/2 the posts are of the good riddance vain.
