SI's Pat Forde's report on what may be next for Big-12

Utah doesn't want to go is the word.

ASU and UA are sort of locked at the hip.

My guess is both stay put.
Ya know, when Nebraska bolted to the Big 10, and Missouri bolted to the SEC (both stupid moves in hindsight competitive-wise), the Big-12 hung together and rebounded. But who wanted TT, KSU, Kansas, etc? Not counting recent events (Oklahoma and Texas).

The PAC schools in general are sexy. We are in rough shape. I hope this meeting (today?) with the PAC-9 presidents and AD's results in some serious get your shit together and do something. SDSU, UNLV and CSU. F-SMU and Tulane. They got passed by by the Big-12, why should we find them attractive?

Most of the country doesn't believe Pac-12 schools are sexy. They can barely locate Oregon or Washington on a map.

We all have our opinions. Or as Patrick Swayze put in Road House - opinions vary. Stupid as hell movie, but every time it comes on I have to watch it.

Think most of the country can locate Kansas or Iowa on a map? The Big 10 and Big12 seemed to think The PAC was sexy.

My co-horts in the Big 12 have respect for the Pac-12. I wouldn't say that they think that we are "sexy" but most of them are still open to the two conferences partnering up. They do think that west coast fans are a bunch of elitist douchebags who lean too hard into the "we don't have time for football because the west coast is so awesome" mentality.

Not sure that that's a thought process anyone actually has, but last I checked the Pacific Ocean is pretty fcking great, as are the Cascades, Sierra Nevadas, etc.

How many times have we read on here, "Yeah, we aren't as devoted to football, but what do people in the Midwest do for fun? They don't have anything but football!"

There's no doubt that once you get to the Rockies and west of that, there is an entirely different level of outdoor activities to do when compared to the Midwest....and folks in the middle of the country understand that. But they also think that west coast football isn't as good as it could be because the fans don't care as much as they do and this may come as a surprise, but there are people on the west coast that can be jerks on the internet about how lame they think the Midwest is.
