Agree, ttown. If the speed is there, then it makes sense. James Darling played in the next smaller size school league and was only about 10 pounds heavier. But it was clear that he could get bigger, and the speed was there.

Speed and quickness (not exactly the same thing) can't be developed in the same way that muscles and endurance can be developed. IMHO that is the most important measurable for HS backfield kids, whether on offense or defense.
