Sounds like Leavitt flipped to Michigan State

Not too worried about it. Would love to have him sign and not WDWHA, but seems like a possible portal guy the second Mateer has a better scrimmage ala Bruggman. A position we don’t have to freak out about when things change this way.

The days of 4 year players are far and few between now, maybe even over. Even if WSU can keep a kid for 4 years, will there be the NIL $ to pay him all four years?

WSU could be best served to either be all portal and juco kids (with limited years left or free transfer year gone) or be all high school kids knowing that a large percentage of them won’t finish.

Walking the tightrope of high school, portal and juco kids could prove difficult to do.

He’s doing this to leverage NIL coin. I don’t resent him for it, but it’s probably a safer bet to spend on someone with college tape.

MSU offers and suddenly he’s a 4*

He was always, has always been so far until now, a TYPE of Rivals RR 5.6, 5.7, 5.75, where 5.8 is a 4 star on their site.

And he has been a highest rated 3 star on some recruit rankings sites, and a lowest ended rated 4 star on some other recruit ranking sites.

These sites are sites like Rivals, ESPN, 247, Verbal Commits, Athlon, Sports Illustrated, etc, etc, etc.

And he has a lot of offers from P5 colleges.

And he is a Top 33 QB in nation

And he has been TEARING IT UP, during his HS SENIOR season as a LATE BLOOMER.

So NOT SURPRISED that Michigan St offered, and that them offering has bumped, upgraded him to a 4 star, on more of the recruit rankers.

He is a PASS FIRST HAPPY PASSER. He is NOT a good fit for a RUN FIRST, AND RUN A LOT offenses like Michigan State.

And if EXPERT BRANDON HUFFMAN IS EITHER CRYSTAL BALLING HIM TO WSU, or thinks WSU is the FRONT RUNNER, LEADER.

And ALL OF THE ABOVE COMBINED WITH HOW HE ALREADY HAS VISITED WSU, HAD A AWESOME TRIP, EXPERIENCE AT WSU, AND HAS ALREADY VERBAL COMMITTED TO WSU, ETC, THEN HE IS PROBABLY GOING TO SIGN WITH WSU.

JUST BECAUSE A TEAM LIKE MICHIGAN ST, ETC, OFFER, TRY TO CONVINCE A PLAYER TO CHANGE THEIR VERBAL COMMIT, TO A COLLEGE, AND COME PLAY FOR THEM INSTEAD, DOES NOT MEAN THAT IS GUARANTEED TO HAPPEN, THAT THE COLLEGE IS GARANTEED TO TO LOSE THEIR VERBAL COMMITS.

SOMETIME VERBAL COMMITS SAY NO THANKS, I WILL STAY AT WSU.

AND DICKERT IS A VERY GOOD, PERSUASIVE, CHARISMATIC, PLAYERS COACH, ETC, RECRUITER.

AND EXPERT BRANDON HUFFMAN IS RIGHT ABOUT 83% OF THE TIME, IN HIS PROJECTIONS, OF WHERE RECRUITS WILL SIGN.

ALSO VERY TELLING, IS IF DICKERT EVEN GOT A WHIFF, THOUGHT THAT SAM LEAVITT WOULD SIGN ELSEWHERE, MICHIGAN STATE, INSTEAD OF WSU, DICKERT WOULD HAVE RECRUITED ANOTHER QB BY NOW, EVEN IF THAT QB, WAS TO BE ONLY A 2.5 STAR, SO AS TO NOT BE STUCK WITH, IN CASE LEAVITT DOESNT SIGN, AND MATEER LEAVES, AND SO THAT NOT STUCK WITH ONLY CAM WARD, and 1,2 either no namers, walk ONS, preferred walk ONS, back up scholly players.

The fact that Dickert is not running around desperately trying to replace Sam Leavitt, with another QB, is yet probably another sign that Sam will probably sign with WSU.

WSU fans are just being THE SKY IS FALLING, MONSTERS UNDER THE BED, POOR OLE LITTLE OLE AW SHUCKS, LOVEABLE LOSERS, WSU FANS.

Not Even ASU, Arizona, Colorado fans(Pre Deion), etc, are like that.

There was a thread that touched on this last week, but maybe this is why WSU goes all-in on facilities instead of handing out fat NIL checks like Halloween candy?

A brand new $25M IPF and an expanded Martin-Biggs Stadium don't pack up and leave when a Texas A&M or Tennessee offer a couple thousand bucks more than Cougar Collective might be willing to pay

Who's the last scholie QB recruit from Oregon who showed up and got on the field? Brink? Connor Neville was fun, too.

I guess that Expert Brandon Huffman can be wrong, and that Dickert was either caught unprepared, an or either did get a whiff, but didn't go get another QB, or didn't get a whiff, an or did get a whiff, went and got another QB, and kept it secret.

Hope the STUPID kid enjoys being a glorified water boy that hands off the ball to the running back, and enjoys getting stomped by Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, USC, Nebraska, Wisconsin, etc, instead of passing for 4000 yards, 40 TD's, 13 Int, 74% completion, etc, at WSU.

Oh well.

Maybe Dickert will learn from this.

As of now he is still a WSU commit. But what kind of sad, pathetic person are you that you would say this about a high schooler? Get a life you loser.

Video killed the radio star and the portal is going to kill high school recruits.

Have fun, kid. Your WSU spot will be filled by a Minshew-like transfer or JC player with film.

And don't for a minute think you're going to be the only QB recruit at Michigan State/UW. They'll do the same unto you as you done unto others.

What are you talking about? Leavitt is probably shopping around because our Offensive Coordinator, who has now since departed, was flirting with other programs.

True about why Sam might have left. It also might have had nothing to do with OC Morris leaving.

But even if it was the reason, Michigan State was a DUMB choice, because of being a Glorified hand off to RB waterboy there, and being stomped by Ohio State and company there, when he could have gone to another place after he left WSU to go pass for 4000 yards, 40 TD's.

Michigan St was a STUPID choice.

Also Sam got offered, and was rumored to flip BEFORE OC MORRIS left WSU.

As far as Dickert, Dickert if he did not get a whiff, of this, should have had a whiff of this, and if he did get a whiff of this, then he should of went and got another QB, even if a 2.5 star QB, IF he hasn't done that, if he hasn't already gotten another QB, and is keeping it secret.

What I meant by that he Dickert should learn from this, is that IF he didn't get a whiff, or if did get a whiff, but didn't go after a replacement QB, and IF this happens again, that next time, IF there is a next time, that he should get a whiff next time, and if gets a whif next time, that he should go after, get another QB next time, an or not wait until the last second, after this happens, and start the QB search late, after this kind of thing happens, if this happens again, and not risk not getting a QB, because of this.

Because I told, said the truth, that he was being a STUPID, DUMB KID, making a STUPID, DUMB CHOICE of STUPIDLY, DUMBLY, going to a run first, run a lot offense, to be a Glorified Hand Off to RB Waterboy, instead of Passing for 4000 yards, 40 TD's at another place, because I said that truth, and there is nothing wrong with saying that, then I am supposedly a pathetic person.

You are a EXTREME HYPOCRITE, that has SAID A EXTREME HELL LOT WORSE.

Get a EFFIN LIFE YOU EXTREME, PATHETIC HYPOCRITE LOSER POS.

GO F OFF AND F YOURSELF.

Your the type that as a POT head would walk up to a Kettle and call it black

IGNORE TIME.

SHUT YOU UP TIME.

PUT YOU IN PLACE TIME.

YOU CAN TALK TO HAND TIME.

Oh and he is not a WSU commit. On Written Paper, he is a technical, official WSU commit, BUT, a WSU commit, does NOT Tweet out that kind of tweet of him wearing a Michigan State uniform, saying "What do you think of this Michigan State fans, come follow me on Instagram", on the day that your supposedly supposed to let everybody know your decision.

That's his way of letting everybody know that he just flipped and chose Michigan State over WSU, and Verbal Committed to Michigan State.

We haven’t offered a new QB, so I doubt much has changed YET

You are a pathetic, insecure loser. WSU would be better off without people like you.

True that Dickert hasn't offered another QB yet, at least not openly(may have secretly)

See my point to Coug Patrol about Dickert should or should have either already offered a QB by now, or if not offered another QB by now, should or should have at least be out looking for another QB by now, etc.

Also just because Dickert hasn't offered another QB, that doesn't mean the kid hasn't flipped yet.

Dec 13, today, was supposedly the day, if I remember right, etc, that the kid was either going to Verbal Commit again to WSU, or sign at WSU, etc, in addition to his original verbal commit to WSU, or flip to Michigan State, etc.

Then today, Dec 13, the day, that day that this was supposed to happen, the kid tweets out a tweet of him in a Michigan State Uniform and says "What do you all think Michigan State Fans? Follow me at, on Instagram"

That's a different way of saying: "I have made my choice, on this day, like I said I would, and I have decided to flip from WSU to Michigan St, and am Committing to Michigan St.".

If that wasn't, isn't his intent, and wants to stay committed at WSU, and wants to sign at WSU, then why did he tweet that at, on his decision day?

The kid flipped, committed to Michigan State. DICKERT doesn't have had to offer another QB.

It would have been better if Dickert had to have had to offer another QB.

But it looks like Dickert is just now seeing, learning of this, and has to just now start his QB search again, instead of either catching a whiff, being better prepared, etc.

Now we know why this is playing out...

Well, this is certainly interesting. Keinholz had a hell of a year and just won another state championship here in South Dakota (yeah, it's South Dakota, but he really is a pretty special QB). Local paper had a big article about his recruiting. Dickert had offered him sight unseen (obviously had seen the video), according to the article, but I think UW had actually come to Pierre to watch him play. Anyway, I didn't expect an Ohio State offer. DeBoer is from South Dakota and still has a lot of connections. Thought this was a solid committment. Boy, you never know these days.

Glad Cougar

Mik, we don't know that he flipped. Not saying he did or didn't, but kids go on visits while committed pretty often when their coaching staffs don't pull their offers when doing so. It's not universal -- a lot of kids shut it down when committed -- but it certainly isn't unheard of at a lot of schools. Most importantly, it's routine to post pictures from the visit and try to drum up likes on social media. It doesn't mean he committed to Michigan State.

The great thing about our country is this, generally speaking you are allowed to choose your own path in life. Verbal commitments these days are like booking an airline ticket, your booked a trip to Mexico, but at the last minute you cancelled for some reason and decided to go to Hawaii. And then you use to Portal to book a flight to Tahiti, after spending time in Hawaii. We can talk about how right or how wrong his choice is, but it is his choice, and until he signs the letter of intent, he is free to go where ever, for a year. And then like the portal kids we can say they are making a mistake, but once again it is their choice, and then they change their mind again, or as in the travel analogy rebook the flight else where. So calling these 18- 22 kids stupid, crazy, foolish, or whatever term you use, is pointless. The system is set up to allow them to do as they please, generally speaking it is not the kids that are foolish, it is the system and the way it has been set up, and the people that run it, which allow them to make these changes, the fools are the ones in charge.

Yeah, it's analagous to fishing in a way.

Got to get the fish interested enough to strike at the bait; then you got to set the hook and secure the fish on the line; then you got to reel him in, scoop him up with the net and set him into the boat; then you got to get the boat safely to shore.

Miss out on one of those steps and there's no fish on the kitchen table.

I'd rather just go to the store and buy it.

Which is probably equivalent to what the portal is - let someone else catch the fish, and then go pay what it takes to take it off their shelf.

More like a silent bid auction with some bidders or talent leaking the bids, unfortunately.

Dude c'mon don't be a Homer.

Today, Dec 13, was, is supposedly was,is Sam's BIG DECISION day, if I remember, understand right etc.

This was, is the day that He Sam was, is supposed to tell us whether he stay at WSU, or Flip to Michigan St.

And to DO THAT he Sam tweeted a tweet of him dressed up in a Michigan State Uniform, and said "What do you all think Michigan St fans, come follow me on my Instagram @Sam's Instagram."

Does that sound like his BIG DECISION was to stay at WSU instead of and not flipping to Michigan State? And if his BIG DECISION on this BIG DAY of his was, is to stay at WSU, instead of flipping to Michigan St, then why that Tweet, instead of a tweet that has him Sam in WSU gear, asking WSU fans if they like it, and asking them to follow him on Instagram?

And if he Sam is staying, then Why did Dickert offer that Stud QB a preferred Walk on that he is going to Switch to a scholly offer, when Sam's flip becomes OFFICIAL?

C'mon man are you really that unaware and give WULF, Sam, etc, the benefit of the doubt no matter how likely WULF was bad, and no matter how likely it is that Sam has flipped, until it was official, that WULF was 1-11, lost 69-0 vs USC, and until you read an official story that says that Sam has Flipped to Michigan St.

C'mon man, unofficially, Sam is gone, has flipped to Michigan St.

Yeah, it was expected. Whatever! QB starters nowadays just as often transfer and start at their second school. The only thing I don't like is when they write to "Respect my decision". Why do I have to respect their decision? I would respect their decision if they didn't tell me to respect their decision.

See, I said he was UNOFFICIALLY, gone, flipped to Michigan St.

He was supposed to make his BIG DECISION on whether to stay or Flip, TODAY.

You don't Post that Tweet on the SAME DAY , as your BIG DECISION on whether to Stay or Flip, if you intend to Stay and NOT flip to Michigan St.

As far as respecting his decision. I don't have to NOT think your decision was STUPID to be a Glorified hand the ball off to the running back water boy QB at Michigan State, instead of Passing for 4000 yards, 40 TDs at either UW, WSU, another college, etc, in order to Respect your decision.

Now the 3 star Stud QB, that Dickert made a Preferred Walk On offer to, can be switched to a scholly offer.
