I just assumed that Oregon got the most Nike bucks of all Pac-12 schools. Nope. The fuskies. I understand that W. Washington has more people that W. Oregon and are a bigger tv market, Oregon is on a national stage yearly.

Cougs Get $1.65 Mil A Year

Well, after reading the article, it seems pretty clear that those dollars do not include any of the donations that Knight makes personally, in terms of either (a) facilities, like libraries or locker rooms or whatever, or (b) personal cash gifts, which surely count in the millions.

I have little doubt that if the TOTAL Knight beneficence to Oregon were totaled it would dwarf UW's by several-fold

Seeing all the indirect benefits Oregon gets from uncle Phil, I would imagine they'd take a little less "on paper" to make the rest of the schools feel they are getting a really good deal from Nike.

Yes, SC this has been discussed for a decade now. Phil and his small band of Nike buddies do most of their donating with personal dollars.

Don't think it's true that UW gets the most, though they do get a lot. If it appears they get the most, it's because they have the longest contract and therefore the largest multiplier. On an annual basis they are #2 behind UCLA, who get $4.6m annually (32% more than UW). The private schools don't report so we don't know their take.

Agree though that the dump trucks of cash PK donates, and the locker room gifts-in-kind, are how so many advantages accrue to Oregon.

Jeesuz Chip, I said that the fuskies got more than the Ducks.

You can bing it. I linked the one I did because it was brief and implied a long term relationship. I heard it discussed on a UCLA broadcast a couple weeks ago.
