And most of this one rests on the coaches. That fake punt was a terrible decision even it its converted. Everybody in the stadium knew that was gonna be a fake. The TD off the fumble just emphasized how dumb that call was. And then the onside. Talk about getting outcoached. Powell's shank hurt too, Cougs had momentum and that helped to kill it. At least the kick coverage was better.

And Falk is still holding the ball too long. Can't blame the offensive line for most of those sacks.

Ah well, load up the bus and head for Eugene I guess. Ugh...

The game was lost by the special teams, but once the sting subsides, we have to feel OK with the effort and the development of our defense.

Hercules, Pelluer, and our secondary are young and as good as we've had in a decade.

Despite all of the gaffs, there were a lot of positives in this game.

Oline looked improved, dline as well. Secondary looked good but seemed to fade as the game wore on/ Goff-Dykes figured out their scheme.

Still not completely sure why/how our ST unit can be so consistently bad. Leach is going to have a hard time pointing the finger at another coach if this issue continues to be a factor in winning or losing games - the fish rots from the head.

I would like to invite our special teams to f*ck themselves. Such a disaster every time. I don't believe in the, if we woulda made one more play here or there we would have won stuff, cause cal could have done the same. But damn I'm tired of the special teams ruining every game. And Cal is not that good of a team either.

Most of the teams on our schedule are not that good of a team either. We'll win some of these ones, and lose some others.

I'm pretty much of the same opinion. They beat a woeful Texas team, and although the dogs have a solid defense, not sure they are all that. We let this one get away. Too bad.

Cal's skill players and defensive line are great, but their secondary and offensive line are pretty average. If we played these guys 10 times we'd probably win 5 of them, and almost every single one would turn on some silly fumble or blocked kick or something.

Iam 100% convinced Cal's onside kick was not controlled inbounds. An angle I only saw once showed it clearly. Also the Cal training staff came onto the field to tend to their player when the cougs where tending to Allison. Because of this the clock should not have started until the snap. Giving the ball back to the cougs with about 55 sec left.

But oh well.
