Link below, as well as a link to the WSU Regents agenda that has the actual numbers.

This Shawn Vestal has become sort of a WSU-hater as of late, with his foray into Athletics a followup to his previous attack (3rd link) on WSU's admin spending. His Admin spending article was not completely off at all, but his stats were way overblown - much of WSU's increase in admin positions was offset by a decline in classified positions.

Anyway, no huge surprises in the numbers. We are going to lose 2-3 million more in FY 19 than we projected.

I would assume the "$2-3M more" is directly related to Kent and Lees being let go or are those numbers factored into the article? That's right around $1.6M that wouldn't have been "expected" although internally they probably had anticipated eating Kent's contract over the next 3 years.

WSU's income statement shows $11M in athletic aid. I'm curious how much of that is lodging vs. tuition. Tuition doesn't cost WSU anything and should be a part of the contribution WSU provides. With this in mind, the deficit is just a paper (bs) number.

I’m surprised Vestal was able to pry himself away from writing about the homeless.

Several lies and a few nonsensical points in this article.
