Never thought much of Rice for some reason. Solid coach for sure but not sure he’s good enough to take on WSU. What does he do well? He’s the only coach off the Few tree to have some success so there is that.

It’s not like he played at WSU. In that respect his basketball roots seem more GU than Wazzu. Better than Kent and maybe Bone. He has done well with Australia so that’s a plus. It would upgrade the program but maybe he’s flatlined at BSU and he turned us down once.

I would be on the fence but wonder what others think.

He's in the Few/Monson/Lloyd inner circle. Those guys laugh at WSU. He has a good gig in Boise.

Maybe Chun should run down to the local tattoo parlor and get ink that says "Coach K or Bust". Or maybe we can dig up Dean Smith's bones and and you can pull the strings and be the puppet master of the whole show.

If Chun hires this guy then they deserve each other. He is a walking stooge but some here may like the idea of having Rice as the head coach. I would certainly have fun panning his recruiting and on the court performances. If Chun hires him then he would be publicly castrated to his dismay. As much as i would like to see posters rewarded for their past criticisms ,WSU can and should do better. This is the bottom of the barrel stuff.

I wouldn't be overly pleased with a Leon Rice hire. I would certainly not limit the search to the PNW or West Coast. There are a lot of Midwest coaches at the mid-major level that intrigue me more than Rice. Besides, he already said no to us.....and as a result, we got Ernie.

He said no to us five years ago after talking to Few so why would he consider us now? Few told him to stay away because he would be fired in five years and thats exactly what happened to Kent and deservedly so. There are a lot of up and coming coaches who I think will do a good job for us and I would much rather go that route rather then go after an older coach who said no before because he considers us a coaching grave yard.

A reminder ElC trashed Boise St and Rice when he thought he might be the next WSU head coach. Now he is complimenting the program in Boise.

Can you imagine if we had hired Rice, I guarantee you he'd be singing the praises of Smith at San Francisco.
