Story: Practice Report - Day 8 in Lewiston (Sat.)

Something is brewing.

Every practice report contains specific accolades from Leach toward players and position groups. His comments seem to be that of a coach very confident in his team. Seems different to me than in previous years.

Because he has his own players now and he can forge the team the way he wants it with players that play and have the attitude he wants. Still a ways away from an extremely high level because there are so many young players, but every year they will get better and better. It's a better feeling when you have the right parts to build something instead of a bunch of subpar left overs.

The reports from Lewiston sound promising. The offense is as expected and the defense seems to be coming around. ST's obviously are still struggling. Kicking and punting are showing signs of life. Return coverage is the outlier. I know that Mele is busily organizing this aspect of the team but, Good Lord, coverage sounds even worse than last year. I know, it is still early but this is greatly concerning. Not much time left before "live fire" and hasty improvements need to be made or we may have another disappointing season. Today our jug of KoolAid has a sizeable turd floating in it.

It's no big deal

Undoubtedly it's our awesome return game and not the coverage

I think we are going to see a lot more starters on ST if things don't turn around. No more letting the youngsters cut their teeth if they can't make plays.

No Dumbass,, I was speaking of Leach's tone. Here and now as compared with his tone the past three. It's as if... he's finally expecting to win.
