I read on brand x that summer practices are going well.the reports are that Elleby and Kunc are looking very good. No surprise as Kunc s tapes show a long player with all the tools. He also has very good athleticism. Elleby looked like the best player out of Washington last year. I believe that the season may depend on the big men like Pollard,Chidom, and Cooper,. I think that the players are looking good because of the guards. When a Pg plays team ball he can make players look good. A shoot first pg makes himself look good to the detriment to team play.Again i have optimism for the coming season but how the coaching staff needs to blend the potential into a cohesive whole.

Ran into coach Seltzer on campus today he said they had practice at 3:30 in Beasley but it was closed to the public. I would have liked to get a look at some of the new guys but oh well. In the practice gym one of the Molina sisters was putting in some shooting work and looked good, I believe it was Chanelle

I like the way Pollard plays - he is not a star or starter but gives good production as a role player. My guess is that he had some type of injury the latter part of last season as he all but disappeared and WSU was not as competitive. Pollard appears to be a good kid who helps make his teammates better by doing the dirty work.

I have always liked Pollard as a player. He is absolutely a team player but he has to have a breakout kind of year.I think that he has potential as a starter.

Again for me it goes back to players having to play roles they might not be suited for or ready for. Pollard is s solid hard working player who is probably best suited giving minutes off the bench but I Think it will be hard to keep him out of the starting line up unless somebody gives us way more than I expect. Also as El stated Pollard could, if healthy have a breakout type of year. I expected more from him last year but it didn’t materialize.

Pollard is a solid fundamental player who is also the ultimate team player. If used correctly he can really help this team.I only wish, for you old timers, that he had a Bill Lambier type of attitude on the court. The coaching staff has to respond with better coaching this year.

A poster on brandx went through recruiting classes from Raveling to Kent. One thing I noted about the good teams beyond have some NBA talent and good guards was most had quality role players who were unselfish and high IQ going back to Raveling. The year Guy Williams hurt his knee is a good example. Aaron Haskins and Mike Wurm weren't the most gifted of players but did their job and were pretty important to the teams success.

Anyway, Pollard that kind of player. If he can stay healthy for a year and get some more experience there is an important role for him. I also think in time the 3s will start to drop. While games are obviously different he's too smart of a player to be taking shots out of his range.

I have not heard much about the practices. Is there any information on how the jucos are doing?

Aside from the few comments on the other board, information and news has almost been nonexistent. There was a post where the poster said that all practices are closed.
