In an opinion from a senior counsel on the NLRB, football players at private universities are "employees of their universities" and hence subjects to the rights, privileges, and protections of the NLRB. Cuts both ways, as down the road players at these schools may get paid, etc. for their services, but (b), may also mean that such more expensive private schools may be more appealing and desirable....thereby swinging the pendulum back from Title IX rulings, etc. Way premature to say anything is settled....but if paying players is like the kitchen of the home, this ruling is like the breaching or opening of the front door.....
