The Perfect Purple Storm...

The Air Raid has been scoring in the teens during the AC for Petersen’s tenure thus far. The unprovable claim that the result would have been different without snow is just that—unprovable. We had things that were to our advantage and things that were not all season, just like every team in America.
This is sitting on a tee for someone. Swing away.

Of course, but what kind of opinions did you expect to find on here? I’m originally from Boston, and I still hear the “if we only would have given the ball to Lynch” Super Bowl complaints.

Swing and a miss. Everything I said still applies. You keep suggesting that because luck or chance exists and COULD apply at any time to any team, that somehow proves it affects everyone equally at all times.

On Air Raid scoring, see above where I claim this is the first year I felt we were the better team. Pointing to the past as a counterpoint is weak.

RE the fact that it’s an unprovable claim, lots of things are unprovable - doesn’t make them false. Undefeated UCF is getting blasted by Memphis but they’re missing their star QB - can’t prove they’re related. You just pointed to injuries affecting the Cal/Oregon losses - that’s also unprovable.

Yes they can. But come on, Utah was missing 80% of their offense.

@Utah earlier in the year:

Tyler Huntley - 20/38 138 yards, 1 pick
Zach Moss - 13 rushes for 67 yards 1 TD
261 Total Yards of Offense
7 Pts

Pac 12 Champs:

Jason Shelley - 17/27 137 yards, 3 picks
Armand Shyne - 11 rushes for 37 yards
188 Total Yards of Offense
3 Pts

So the #1 Utah offense, who UW's D throttled AT Utah was going to spell trouble for the Dawgs on a neutral field? Use your brain.

You do know that some schemes match up better and worse depending on the team you're playing right? You'd think you'd know that based on Petersen vs Leach over the years.

UW's style of offense, grind it out, not a lot of explosion... is exactly the type of O that Utah's D manages well. UW has beaten them, regularly, but the games have been close because they match up well. UW's offense also did not match up well with what Cal or Auburn does either. UW basically struggles on O against teams with stout run D and secondaries that still perform despite stacking the box.

If you can run the ball on UW, stop UW's running game and essentially establish the LOS you have a good chance against the Huskies. The Cougars haven't done, don't have the personal to do it that and lost because of it. Nothing about recent Apple Cups or even this Apple Cup showed different. It was once again evident that WSU didn't have what it take in the trenches to beat the Huskies. You can say snow ruined you guys... but UW was manhandling the Cougs up front before conditions got really bad.

Oh and by the way... Ohio St. matches up well against Michigan... they've dominated them so it's not indicative of how they will perform against UW... in fact I like UW's chances against Ohio St. more than Michigan based on the styles both teams have.

Look at Alabama vs Georgia... Alabama destroys everyone... yet for some reason Georgia matches up well with them... and has mostly been the better team in recent matchups.

Hi Cognitive
Throttled?

It’s the dogs offense that was truly offensive.

Manhandling early before the conditions changed?
Like when Minshew had a brain cramp and slid instead of tucking it and putting the Cougs up 7 before conditions got really bad.
Go home Jack

UW mauled the Cougars yet again. My name is Cognitive Dissonance for a reason. I've been reading your moronic drivel, yes you in particular, and had to respond.

Nothing you have said is even in the realm of reality.

The Huskies mauled the Cougars in the trenches yet again.

I read all these posts about how UW wouldn't get home against Minshew because the Huskies haven't generated a pass rush and the Cougs had only allowed 9 sacks all year. All you idiots said that's the reason UW beat you before... The Huskies had 2 sacks... an intentional grounding and pressured Minshew, who was running for his life all day, by only rushing 3. So you were dead wrong.

Or how about WSU's pass rush getting home...? Oh that's right... 1 sack and few pressures. Run D? 258 yards surrendered on the ground.

The Cougs had 85 yards rushing... couldn't even run the ball when the Huskies didn't cover both your guards and center during a play.

The Coug receivers were tip toeing like ballerinas out there scared of getting hit.

You were once again totally undermanned and out physicalled. Face it, you're not physical enough and the Huskies know it.

The Cougs just folded, they gave up, evident in the 10 minute drive that ended your total luck of a season.

And for all the people on this forum who think the Cougs will do jack shit next year? Minshews, 5th year starters who are going to gel as well as he did, don't grow on trees. You're eventually gonna have to put a QB in there who won't perform nearly as well and you'll be back in the cellar.

It's OK. You can launch personal attacks against me all you want.

I've just read the bullshit excuses on this board long enough that I had to check a lot of them. I know that this is your M.O... you can't face reality so you just launch stupid, juvenile personal attacks like "Jack Husky" thinking that it's some sort of a gotcha when the school admits more than half its applicants and has an undergrad population of 30,000+... hint hint... people do go to school there.

My favorite recent one is... "Well the Cougars had a 10-2 record, UW was 9-3, so why aren't the Cougs Pac-12 Champs and playing in the Rose Bowl." Jesus your fanbase is ridiculous. It's like you didn't play Wyoming, San Jose St. and Eastern Washington in your non-conference games...

Can't wait for you guys to play New Mexico, Northern Colorado and Houston next year. You guys don't have a power 5 non conference game until 2022... and you want to be taken seriously?

Like I said, it’s too bad football success doesn’t translate to you being less of a loser

You do know that some weather conditions match up better and worse depending on the offense you run?

SMH that a person could hammer out a turd like that without realizing the obvious.

Also, can we switch topics to the psychology of Husky fans who celebrate their AC and conference victories by obsessively haunting Cougar boards, visiting dozens of times a day, in between claims that the rivalry means nothing to them because they’re THAT cool? Can anyone here imagine leaving the victory circle in order to log countless hours making sure your opponents have the “correct” and appropriately subservient point of view on your accomplishments this year? Guys, what do your wives or families think about you barricading yourselves in your man caves raging on Coug boards and trying to police free people on the Internet?

It’s disappointing how many Coug fans feel the need to insecurely defend WSU after an Apple Cup loss.

I don't disagree with you that snow isn't the best weather for the Air Raid. But WSU did everything they usually do when facing a more physical UW team.

Cower and give up. Snow didn't change that. It's who the Cougs have been against the Huskies and it was once again on full display.

Any thoughts on Mutts haunting our boards after their conference victory or is the negative energy mostly directed at fellow Cougs?

Literally nothing substantive in that post for me to critique. Try again.

So where where were you before the game with your bold predictions about mighty uw? Get lost and go hump someone else’s leg. There’ probably a Utah board talking about your fluke pick 6 and the no call PI at the end of the PAC 12 title game.

It's because you fail to look at the bigger picture.

All you see is that the Cougars generally throw for a lot of yards against most opponents and that snow limits that. So you assume that's why you lost.

You don't look at the mentality that goes into playing the game. You don't look at the mental advantage the Huskies own over the Cougars. The Huskies hit the Cougars hard over and over again until the Cougars break.

The Huskies ran a 14 play, 8 minute 47 second drive to end the game. The Cougars knew the Huskies were going to run the football and could do nothing to stop it. Do you know how mentally defeating that is to know that you are incapable of competing with the physicality of a team who has owned you? Mike Leach didn't even use his timeouts that's how badly ya'll wanted to get out of there.

The Cougs gave up, cowered and quit.

I visit your board because it's humorous to read all this drivel regarding why, "this year is our year" and then see you fall flat on your asses with most predictions looking straight moronic.

Yes, as a member of your rival fan base, it's funny and I like to see you flounder.

Is this why Leach blocked you on Twitter? Smart BCC guy
Back to your moms basement loser.

You are probably the least creative shit talker I've ever come across.

You can work a bit harder... critically think about a better response next time rather than one a 13-year-old who is upset at someone over a video game would come up with.

You can read it. Go ahead and find it. These are my words... and they were harsh toward coward Husky fans who actually believed we were going to lose:

Oh please... what the hell am I reading? 41 points? Seriously... you're serious?

Doomed? Against the Cougars? In a game that they need to win to win the Pac 12 North? Do we not know who the Cougars are? They ****ing Coug it whenever they get the chance... it's become a positive for them.

Jesus Christ.

First off, weather is supposed to be windy and wet... sets the Dawgs right up.

Pete makes Leach eat his jock strap every year. You bet your ass we'll see a game plan the Cougs didn't expect on D. You bet your ass we'll get pressure. I'm predicting 4 sacks and Minshew limping off the field at some point... just like Cougar QB's always do in the Apple Cup.

I'm predicting a few booming hits on their fragile, mentally weak wideouts in the first quarter that makes them scared any time that long haired, porn stache bitch decides to throw one over the middle.

Gaskin owns these little turds. I get sick over hearing these dumb announcers every Cuog game talk about the stunting the Cougars do on the line to throw off opposing O's who are bigger. That has NEVER worked against the Dawgs... never. The Cougs shift one way, we run the opposite and they haven't done **** to stop that. Ever.

We'll be up at halftime and half of the fragile fanbase in the armpit of Washington will vacate the building.

Tackle in space, run the ball and get Minshew running for his life. Easy recipe, easy victory... because they always, ****ing, COUG IT.

34-21 DAWGS.

We're the pride of this ****ing state. They're the loser little brother. Act like it.

Oh... I was right.
If the huskies win every game til eternity, you still are your same miserable self

Oh I can assure you I'm quite happy ha.

Why wouldn't I be?

We're headed to the Rose Bowl and stomped the Cougs in the process yet again. Reading the majority of the stuff you guys say is hilarious (minus the few who actually have come to terms with what happened, I respect you guys - you get it.)

Watching the Cougs come up with every excuse in the book brings me great joy.

Difference is... when the Cougs beat the Huskies down the road I won't be on a message board making a million excuses for why it happened. I'll own it.

Personally I come to discuss the Huskies. The Huskies are usually the topic of numerous threads here. That’s been true for the 20 years I’ve been here.

Where Washington deserves credit is they have been able to build a real quality defense from a West coast talent pool. Their defense is somewhat unique in CFB today in that they are not only charged with containing the other offense more often than not they have to dominate the game for the team to win. Pete also I guess deserves some credit for keeping a team that flawed and one sided from having dissention .

Where is Washington is in fantasyland is they would not get away with a lot of the stuff they do defensively in other conferences . The B12 for instance would never allow that amount of grabbing and holding that their DB's get away with in P12. Find it very interesting that Washington averages only about 40 yards a game in Penalties when they play in Pac12, but the one time they venture out and play Auburn they get rung up for 95 yards of penalties. A 55 yard over difference ( a double) has to tell someone with an unbiased brain that there was a difference in how the game was called. Stay tuned for what the numbers will be in the Rose Bowl especially if it is against a pass oriented Ohio State.

The thing that will be interesting for the overall P12 is what adjustments that they make with officiating next year after the train wreck of a game played last night. The B12 has gone too far in favoring offense IMO, however for the P12 to have any viewers outside of close friends and family they have to tighten things up significantly on the defensive penalties . Defensive holding on receivers still should be a penalty as well as knocking receivers off of routes when the ball is in the air. Really simple stuff.

Really? *That* is one of the most pathetic Things you’ve read? ON HERE?

Ok....

CougEdiot/Erictile Dysfunction's prediction that Wulff had a replay of 2001-2003 ready to go in 2011 is pretty hard to beat. And, of course, any post from his equally genetic mutant brother is right there as well (bad genes from mommy, daddy, or both?)
