This is by far the dumbest whataboutism of all time of the Trump cult. On one hand you’ve got a guy who’s admitted on a hot mic he sexually assaults women, was friends and neighbors with Epstein for years, accused of raping a 13 year old with Epstein along with dozens of other accusations, held liable for sexual assault of E Jean, has said numerous gross things about his own daughter including that he’d F her if she wasn’t his daughter (I’m not so sure he didn’t anyways).

On the other hand you’ve got a guy who…has a few pics/videos (he’s been in politics for what 40 years so he’s been on camera 100s of thousands of times) where he looks a bit awkward with some children? Biden has plenty to criticize about his politics but this is just dumb.

You’d have more to stand on if you just said one of the qualities you admire about Trump is his ability to pull ass and you don’t even mind that he probably has F’d kids.

Where education is concerned, we’re going to find that the obstacles are more often local than federal. Attacking DOE isn’t going to solve the problem. More likely, it’ll make it worse by adding uncertainty to authority, process, and enforcement, and by interrupting funding.

Flat was right, the way to do it is look at what the department is doing and eliminating the things that don’t work. Use a scalpel, not a hatchet.

"Using a scalpel" implies that you're lancing a boil or removing a corn. The task seems much larger than that.

The next unknown…yesterday, DOGE made it to the Institute of Museum and Library Services, an agency that provides funding for museums and public libraries around the country. It represents 0.0046% of the federal budget, so is obviously a tremendous source of waste and inefficiency. Their staff is expected to be slashed by half over the weekend, and existing grants may be shut off. Impact is expected to be reduction in access to libraries, particularly digital resources, with the largest impacts in rural areas.

Yet another reduction in access to information in the name of efficiency.

I don’t see this as an issue. People will still be able to information from Twitter which we know is completely factual.

Gawd, get off it. The kids were not "appearing" at a presser. They were sitting in desks pretending to do schoolwork and apparently signing their personal copies of the executive order. Completely staged and orchestrated for TV. Pathetic. That's pimping.

Now, show me Biden "pimping" kids. I don't argue that his sniffing tendencies are odd (so no I am not "good" with it), but those were public appearances. And the parents were right there. A lot of people, me included, like kids. Doesn't make us perverts or pimps.

The DOE isn’t working. It’s a failed organization. Few people would have argued that point before the election. Why shouldn’t it be eliminated? It would have been bulldozed 20 years ago in the private sector.

I’ve yet to hear a compelling reason for keeping it around.
