Where and when did you see that? I've been on CNN.com of and on since this happened and I never saw that headline. Certainly isn't one of the headlines on the 9+ articles currently on the site.

Well, tidbits I’ve gathered from various sources, no idea whether they’ll eventually be confirmed:
- one attendee dead, someone who said he sat next to that person claimed he was hit in the back of the head and killed instantly.
-two additional attendees wounded. Some sources say critically, the person above claimed a woman was hit in the forearm.
- mixed report, one source seemed to suggest that one of the wounded had later died. Haven’t seen that widely reported, not sure it’s accurate
- one source said the shots were from several hundred yards away. Another said it was the adjacent building. I’ve seen video that showed what I assume are secret service counter snipers on a building near the grandstand. Video makes it look like that counter sniper team may have engaged the shooter.
- some sources stated it was an “AK-style weapon.” I suspect they actually mean AR. If that’s correct, I suspect the “several hundred yards” report is exaggerated.
- sounds quality wasn’t great on the video I saw, and I’ve only seen it once without some talking head blabbering…but pretty sure I heard at least 4 shots. Hard to say if those were the shooter or they were counter sniper teams. Not knowing the distance from shooter & counter teams to the microphone is significant.
- it’s not at all unusual for candidates & office holders to get massive approval bumps in the aftermath of assassination attempts. There will be one here too.

After the initial flurry of pops a single one can be heard several seconds later - I’m guessing that was the shooter being taken out.
And hell, somebody’s gotta’ say it: if only there were more good guys with guns this never would have happened.

As far as "used to be a fun guy" mentioned above,,,,,I used to live in a country where Americans believed that we lived in the greatest country in the world and we could live with one another even if we didn't agree with everything.
Nowadays, I hear too many people rooting for a civil war and I see too much stupidity to be really happy. The funny thing is that for all the talk of how terrible things supposedely are in our country....my life is actually kind of great. My job is great, my kids are doing great, I have a great wife who supports me in anything I do and I have enough money to do anything that I want to do. Saw a different video later this evening with much more distinct sound. 3, possibly 4 rounds with some separation, followed by what I think was 5 rounds in rapid succession, and then a single shot answering the 5.
It sounds like 3 different weapons to me, although the set of 3-4 and the set of 5 may just be different locations altering the acoustics. I assume the final shot was the counter sniper team behind the grandstand area, who I’ve seen firing in another video.
Either way, it was a matter of maybe 5 seconds from first shot to last
