i actually agree with glory on this one. WSU,with the addition of the Medical school, should be able to grow and prosper under the right guidance.The next hire is extremely important as some members of the very old boy s club see this as a chance to seize control once again.The next president needs to set academics as the first priority while recognizing the importance of collegiate athletics to Pullman

Michelle Obama would be a terrible choice for one reason that trumps everything else. Most people would assume that she was hired in an attempt to draw attention to our school because she is a "celebrity". Regardless of her skills and talents (being married to the president? being black? hating happy kids?), many people would think negatively of WSU if she was hired. Heck, for all the praise that Floyd gets (and deservedly so), it was mentioned above that he wasn't the best evaluator of talent when hiring his support staff by some accounts. No one is perfect and the last thing we need to do is hire someone based on name alone, particularly a name that will immediately alienate 40+% of the people that you hope to attract. We need the right candidate more than we need a big name.
From years of reading Chinook, I believe he is a staunch conservative of the Rush Limbaugh ilk. I don't believe for a minute he was serious when he brought up Michelle Obama. I think he thought people would take the bait and agree. Then, he would try to tear that person apart.

Hope you guys realize Chinook is hanging out with a couple other UW fans in his mom's basement, laughing at what he assuredly characterizes as a "bunch" of WSU fans arguing with him about Michelle Obama being a realistic candidate for WSU's next president. It's absurd. Look at his posting pattern -- 85% trolling with 15% bland, generic "go Cougs" stuff thrown in to preserve the paper-thin argument that he's a WSU fan. His game is obvious to anyone who pays attention, and legitimate participants here would be best served by ignoring him.

I don't like you trolling a board that has some contributors I enjoy interacting with, but I honestly have to admire the extent and execution of your trolling. The extreme time commitment on your part, coupled with the admittedly excellent execution, goes beyond anything I can recall seeing on this or any other board.

I'm well aware of his idiocy on here. He's definitely fake. Here he is talking about how Obama is a failure on the Husky board, but over here he is all hype for Michelle Obama

However, to hire Michelle as the president of WSU is certainly absurd (as if she'd ever take that kind of extreme pay cut of her future earning potential). Of course, this opinion apparently makes me a racist I suppose.
