Lots of rumors that Meyer has not been happy with their secondary play this year. Sometimes the grass isn't always greener....

I think that would be great...
IF
SC had great success and returned to national prominence. When SC is strong the conference is seen as strong.
AND
WSU kept rolling and dominated the north. Could you imagine what Ten straight years of epic SC-WSU battles for the coference championship would do for our reputation over the long haul?
Same thing we saw last year.....Ohio State's safeties don't contain running plays and end up giving up 50+ yard runs. Giving up 200 rushing yards in the 1st quarter isn't going to make Meyer very happy. lol
Big play after big play. Zero contain on the edge on the two big runs for scores and just a tremendous throw by Maryland's backup QB that set up the FG to make it 17-3.
It will be interesting to see what adjustments OSU makes at half to get back in the game... would have liked to have seen Maryland run the ball and force a timeout/run the clock before giving the ball back to the Buckeyes.
Wholeheartedly agree this season may be Urban's last in Colombus, and you have to imagine regardless of Meyer's fate, Grinch doesn't want to play second fiddle to another DC for a substantial period of time.

When did college coaches forget how to manage the clock on a 2 minute drill? Maryland had a finite amount of time and instead of spiking the ball on 1st down and give everyone a chance to think, they rush a play and lose 15 seconds of clock. Also, if you can't keep them from getting to the 50 on the kick-off, kick that m-fer out of bound and make them earn that extra 15 yards.
Also, Urban Meyer's VD must be a little active today....he keeps digging at his crotch as he walks on the sideline.

BUT with a TERRIBLE game against Maryland, just barely beating Maryland by Skin of Teeth, AND IF OSU just barely by skin of teeth beats Michigan, in a terribly bad game, then likely WSU jumps LSU, OSU, Michigan, Georgia, OK, WVU and gets the #4 CFP spot IF that happens.

Agreed. Even with a freshman QB at the helm, there is enough talent on both sides of the ball that SC should be better. With each mounting loss, it becomes more and more frustrating revisiting our loss to the Trojans and the missed targeting call. So afraid we are going to look back at that highlight the same way many do the Kegel pass/fumble in the 2002 AC.
IF IF IF Ohio State has a good, great win over Michigan, and does not get beat, then at 1 loss, would be ahead of a 1 loss WSU.
IF WVU and OK dont beat each other between season, Big 12 championship game and thus give each other 2 losses, the team with 1 loss, probably WVU as WVU would probably beat OKU, would be ahead of a 1 loss WSU at end of season.
Thus unless OSU just barely by skin of teeth beats Michigan in a ugly looking win, and WVU, OKU beat each other, and ND loses a game, Georgia loses to Alabama, then WSU not get to #4 CFP, and those teams be ahead of a 1 loss WSU at end of season
I am not sure Helton is going to get fired. He could, but it is not a done deal. USC currently is a rudderless university. They are being run by an interim president who may not want to make decisions about the athletic program, as the leadership has much bigger things to worry about.
Not sure how many people know this, but there were a few huge scandals that recently rocked USC. Campus gynecologist, Dr. George Tindal, was sexually abusing women patients. It was only recently announced that the school has agreed to pay a $215 million settlement.
Another thing was that the Dean of the school of medicine had to resign earlier this year, as he was with a young woman in a hotel room that overdosed and had to be rushed to the hospital. An investigation showed that he had been partying and running around with felons.
These things lead to an outcry that forced out the school President. USC is a mess.
