Wow hope in Priester appeal

Spokesman says they are appealing on a "run off" basis, and that could/would make him immediately eligible. On fly in the soup potential would be if Clemson were to not approve, not sure if we know anything official from their side.

Yeah. the major factor is that he was dismissed, academically eligible, and not allowed back. Seems like he fits that, and to my understanding as long as Clemson said he was officially not allowed on the team he should get that appeal granted. The sit out time frame is to prevent athletes from leaving creating essentially a free agency, but when a university dismisses an athlete who is maintaining eligibility and has no serious infractions at the university he shouldn't have to wait to play football. This is to protect athletes from committing and being dropped as a farm system.

I saw this article earlier today. I should have linked it then.

  1. Documentation demonstrating that the student-athlete would not have had the opportunity to return to the previous institution’s team for reasons outside the control of the student-athlete.
  2. A written statement from the applicant institution that the student-athlete is in good academic standing and meets all progress-toward-degree requirements at applicant institution.
  3. A written statement from the student-athlete’s previous institution indicating that the previous institution supports the request.

Spokesman said today a 'source' within WSU confirmed all necessary paperwork was already in hand and a waiver is expected.
